Your striker fired 9mm?
or
Your trusty 1911?
Why?

Neither, I would take either my M4 or AK.
But given the choice between these two I would take my M&P 9 over my 1911 any day of the week and I'm a 1911 fan. The M&P has a great advantage in the number of rounds per magazine 17 for the M&P vs 7 or 8 for a 1911. Also, the M&P is lighter and from my limited experience the M&P has been more reliable than my springfield loaded.
For sure my Glock 17 (always goes boom and is always close)and preferably if I can get to it my BCM (again always goes boom)

Goggles.
In all seriousness, 9mm.
Bang every time. Simple as that.

My AK-47 or even my Drgunov but if only handguns probably my CZ 75B or my CZ 82.

This.
People overthink this subject. It has been beaten into the dirt here. Everyones needs, skills set, and housing situation vary.
Most prefer a carbine.
For me it would be a M&P45/X300. However, as I sit, there is a G23 with in arms reach. Naturally, I'd roll with that.

... and that will be a Glock 19 or 17 for me, with a S&W 642 as a BUG, excluding my rifles which would obviously be my first choice.

^^This^^.
My Glock 19 as it is on me almost all the time. After that, my Springer 45, then the Kel-Tec P-11, always fighting towards my Mossberg (if in the house) and fighting towards a (currently non-existing, I need to remedy that situation right quick) M4 carbine.

A Ruger P85 converted to 38 Super, because that is less ridiculous than the premise of this thread.

The trouble with blanket questions like this are that they don't define the threat (or setting) in specific terms, so it isn't really possible to offer a competent answer, unless it is far enough from home that the only option available happens to be the one on your belt.
At night, I've a P7 immediately available, and a number of other options within a step or three. Which is best suited to the task at hand depends entirely upon the nature of the threat, intent, proximity and how much time I have to prepare/respond.
Would I prefer to reach for a 1911 if I knew that an attack was imminent? Probably, but given the choice between 9x19 or .45 and something like 5.56 or 6.8, I wouldn't be opting for a handgun to begin with.

Given the opening premise of the thread, I find this an exceptional choice. =]

Kimber 1911, I have more confidence in this pistol than any other I have ever owned.
