I was thinking of all the guns I've bought and sold over the years. There are a few I wish I had back. My Springfield M1A1 is the gun I wish I had back. What one gun do you wish you had back?

Same here; second was a Marlin Golden 39A due to it being the first gun I bought with my own money. I was 11 and I had rolled an entire Ozarka glass water jug of coins.

Ditto. Big, heavy, and accurate.
Never any doubt about "stopping power" either. :D

Yeah that Springfield was a kit gun. Something we sold or gave to the Israelis. It had a Winchester bbl marked 1968. And I bought a WWII Bar ammo belt and filled it with brand new surplus GI mags. That was in 1993. Right before the "ban" and the dark days that followed.

I had one of the Israeli DMR M14/M1A's. Heavy bitch.

We gave the Israelis a bunch of M14's during the Yom Kippur War. They basically rebuilt the standard rifles into DMR types. Springfield imported them as parts kits and then rebuilt them on their commercial receiver with special markings, including the Star of David on the heal of the receiver.

Included a drop bag, Nimrod scope and mount, and stock.

Colt 70 series government. I am not a huge Colt 1911 fan but they were pretty well made back then. I made a $100 on it when I sold it but I still miss it. It was complete with box and manual.

Sendra A1 style AR15. My dad bought it in the 80's and it sat on the gunrack in my bedroom as a teenager. He lost interest and gave it to me and I sold it to fund another AR project when the prices skyrocketed after the ban. My son likes the A1 style and wishes I still had it.

Hey that is cool. I bought mine minus the receiver from a guy who worked at Springfield Armory. I think i saw it in Shot Gun News our pre internet source that and the Gun List. I had a local gun smith build it on a Springfield reciver. Now that I think of it the freaking receiver went from$ 450 to$ 650 over night. The ban had just passed. Im not sure if it was in effect yet but the gouging started. That was a ton of money for me as a college kid.

That was the first stock I reinished it was georgous when I was done. I sprayed oven cleaner on it to get the cosmoline off the stock I used an iorn and wet cloth to raise most of the dents out of the stock.

Man i like my M4's but there is something pretty sweet about that wood and steel and that big ass round.

SIG P220 Elite. I traded it for a S&W M&P 9c and a SIG P229R, I regret it so much now. I will likely never be able to afford a new one exactly like it again.http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g259/nkissel/elite4.jpg

I didn't have it long, but a pristine Smith & Wesson model 27-2 3 1/2". Bought it and my truck died about 10 days later. Had to sell it to put $ towards repairs.

I have sold a lot of guns throughout the years but the only one I really miss is my H&K P7M13. The grip wasn't was comfortable as my P7M8's but I shot it very well and liked having it in the collection. I got it for a good price and sold it at a profit to help pay for some other things. I didn't really need to sell it and should have kept it. I doubt I would ever find one again in the condition it was in and at the price I got it for.

the gun I miss most is the old J C Higgins shotgun I sold at a garage sale right after I got married. my new wife was nervous around guns and didn't want it in the house. I had a shitty job, she was in school, and we had a baby on the way. it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

it wasn't special or worth very much but it was handed down to me as belonging to my father. he was a master sgt. in the army and he came back from Korea on a medical and died of colon cancer less than one month before I was born.

I don't have much of his to know him by, just a couple of pictures, the flag from his coffin, and a handlaid bamboo fly rod that he picked up on one of his leaves in Japan.

right now I'd gladly pay 10 times what I sold it for to get it back. live and learn...

That is a tuff one, but I'll bet he is proud of you anyway. Sacrifices made to raise a family... well its the tuffest job a man will ever have. Sorry for both of your losses.

God Bless Him, You & Your Family
