View Full Version : Selling my CZs! Zed wasn’t so bad friend but there are better ones
I am sorry guys but I have to announce that I’m selling both of my CZ85Bs. Maybe Todd really got me with his “Zed is not your friend” article. I’m going to get some more modern, more reliable and durable pistol that is not is not as heavy as the CZ. I have to admit, and this is based on my experience, it is NOT as reliable as the Bretta 92 or the Glock 17/19. :(

What kind of reliability issues were you experiencing?

Premature slide locks, most of the time. And I know this is not an isolated case with only my CZs.

What is the Todd "Zed" article you speak of?
I had 5 CZs over the years. I sold them all due to some kind of reliability problem.

I had my 75B converted to SA by Jim Miossi, the thing is a tack driver.
It was pretty reliable until the slide release snapped in two locking the gun up pretty good. CZ was pretty good about sending me out a replacement slide-release.
CZ's are probably the most popular double action handgun at my local shooting club. I've shot with lot of those guys, and I haven't seen a particularly high amount failures in my personal experience.
However, I'll defer to expert opinion on this one as I have nothing but anecdotes and a relatively small sample. My M&P and Glock are my go-to handguns anyway.
