Late last year Smith ran a 40% off MSRP for the military. I had placed an order for a 442 Pro Series after Christmas and they were finally made end of June. I wasn't in a rush to recieve it as I was still down range til 1 Jul then home for 2 weeks leave. I do believe this was the first run of the guns according to Helen Piquette at Smith.
The 442/642 Pro Series is cut for TK Custom 5 round moonclips. You can also load round singlely, speedstrips or with speedloaders. Gun also does not have the ILS and is rated for +P. Frame is marked 442-1 and only weights 15 ozs.

I picked up the gun a two days before my leave was up and fired it in the backyard informally. No issues after 30 rds with loose rounds or moonclips. The moonclip is a pain to load the last round and demooning the first due to slack taken out of the clip. I carried it around the house with the first round up with a shotshell followed by Federal 125 Nyclads +Ps. (got copperheads in the woods behind the house). Looking forward to playing with it again come December.
