View Full Version : *A new LMT M4 is born*
This a new gun that was just completed within the last month. I purchased the lower late last fall and finally had the funds to finish purchasing the upper, rail system, and BUIS (had the light already).
I have found over the years that for most applications I prefer a 14.5" M4. My origional plans were to just keep this gun set up with iron sights and keep it in my truck. But sometimes plans change.
Last month during Pat Rogers 3 day EAG Tactical Carbine Course I shot high multiple shooter and second high over all. With that scoring, I won a LaRue Tactical Aimpoint mount and a coyote Viking Tactical VTAC sling. Thanks to both Mark LaRue of LaRue Tactical and Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactical for supporting both Pat Rogers (EAG Tactical) and the shooting community!!!
This is my only AR that doesn't have an optic on it. I couldn't let the LaRue Tactical Aimpoint mount go to waste. So last week I ordered a Aimpoint ML3 and a Tango Down Vertical Foregrip for this gun.

Hey man, badass rifle.
I'm wondering how you got the DD 7.0 on there with the perm. attached FH? Did you install the rail system before the FH was pinned and welded or is there a way to install the DD without taking the FH off?

I'm not USMC03, but I helped him build that rifle.
1st.) That's a LARUE 7.0, not a DD 7.0.
2nd.) Yes, we installed the rail before getting the FH permanently installed.

Oh, my bad. Ok great, thanks for your help!
foundtomarrow,
Looks like molson answered your questions. The only way to get a free floated rail on a gun that has a perminately attached flash hider / muzzle brake is to install the free float tube before you perminately install the flash hider.
If you have a barrel that already has a perminately installed flash hider, you can (carefully) cut the flash hider off the barrel (thus destroying the perminatley installed flash hider), install the free float tube, then perminately re-install a new flash hider.

Thank you for the information. I figured it was a scout, but the tail cap threw me off.
beautiful rifles there my friends........., BUT !!
photographing them on a background of concrete and gravel just makes me cringe, use a Hudsons Bay blanket or Desert Cammo, even green grass is better.., i like seeing photos of good looking guns, i hope this is constructive criticizm and not taken as a slam. ;)
Changed a few things (vertical forgrip further out, upgraded to a x300) and took some better quality pics:

That sling doesn't look like it's coyote.... Where do you guys get all of this money for new guns?
I know the answer to this one. :)
USMC03 is really an evil mastermind hiding under the illusions of good. His nefarious plot is propagated by the posting of pictures of his personal weapons collection. This demonstration of his knowledge, skills and abilities with this weapon platform serves but one purpose, to drive the rest of us mad. No, not angry mad, but rather an bizarre form of 'I MUST HAVE LARUE, MAGPUL, AIMPOINT, LMT, COLT, BRAND XXXX OF AWESOMENESS' obsession type of madness.
What Jeff doesn't tell everyone, is that he runs a special clinic devoted to care and rehabilitation of impulse control disorders, as well as holding major quantities of stock in pharmaceutical companies that make drugs for said disorders. In a sense, he funds his rifle collection disease by encouraging it among others, then cashing out when some break from the madness. The rehabilitation of those that break is not what you would expect. Rather, careful conditioning to get them back on track with where they should be in the black rifle collection disease. Funding rolls in, and most find themselves grateful for the help he provides. Those that do not break, he embraces and finds himself working even harder on by offering a multitude of training courses in his backyard.
In a sense, he is a true mad genius, pursuing his goals well. Those of us in Colorado watch him closely out of fear he will start accepting minions. From there, he could potentially take over the world. After all, he has about 23% of the total small arms owned by the population of the planet.
Admit it Jeff, admit it.... :D
...Jeff, what kinda' seed are you plantin' down there?
Everytime I turn around you've sprouted another AR-type growth!

Littlelebowski,
I bought my first gun in 1991, since then I have been constanly buying, selling, trading, and upgrading.
Since 1997 I have sold back 2 weeks of vacation a year and put it toward guns, ammo, training, and gear. Since the early 90's most of my tax returns have gone toward guns, ammo, training, and gear. Often times if I work a special project and get a good chunk of overtime I'll put that money toward gun stuff. When ever I sell something gun related, 100% of that money goes back into gun stuff.
Firearms have been a long time passion, hobby, and part of my occupation.
Rome wasn't built overnight........close to 2 decades of spending extra income on firearms related stuff instead of investing it in lap dances and other frivolous financial ventures that leave you nothing to show for the money you spent. ;)

UVis,
I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.......Thanks Brother!!!! :D
Getting ready to drop the hammer on a Dillon 1050 and related reloading gear with some help from AFLAC .......... Shoulder surgery wasn't all that bad ;)
S/F,
Jeff
