So I have been wanting to get some rifles painted for a while now but due to me being OCONUS that is somewhat of a problem. I have seen quite a few companies work and they look good but I am just not sure about sending my rifles out. I particularly like the MARPAT job on Travis Mk12.

Anyone recommend a particular painter/company?

If it is the rifle I am thinking of or at least the CTR stock, the pattern was hydro dipped and not painted.

I personally have not had that particular process done, but if you google hydro dipping, water transfer printing or hydro imaging, you will get a lot of info and even some video of the entire process, from professional dipping, companies and prices to DIY dipping.

OK, I do a lot of finish work and I have been wanting to try the hydro dip process. Since this thread got me thinking about it, I went ahead and purchased a couple of DIY camo kits as there is a company running a sale on them. I ordered the woodland and desert versions of MARPAT. I'll let you know how it comes out. :)

I picked up a couple of the hydro kits here http://www.timbersedgecamo.com/index.html

Watched the youtube videos and it looks pretty straight forward. Might have to try it out sometime. Surf be sure to post pics when you get done with your experiment.

Casey at Lawmen's & Shooters Supply did this for me.
I can't recommend him enough.
It is Cerakote in FDE.

So much for the hydro-dipping idea. They refunded my pay pal account.
