Just curious if any large agencies have tested and selected the 4th Generation G17s or 22s.

Heard the Charleston, WV PD went to Gen4 G22s. Not real large but not small either. This info is from a Glock press release.

California Dept. of Fish&Game just issued them out to their wardens, Glock-22, from what I've heard.

I thought these all issued RTF2s, not Gen4s, especially Palm Beach Sheriff since the Gen4 G23s aren't out yet. Could be wrong though, it's been some time since I looked at the Glock Annual.

You have a point, the cover in bold letters GEN 4 and in lower right hand of front cover: FIRST G22 RTF2 AGENCIES! Louisiana State PD, Escambia County Fl. On the inside under SPECIAL SECTION there are pictures of the Escambia County Sheriffs' pistols and for sure they are GEN 3.

Sorry guys, the front cover mislead me.

Boston PD selected the 4th gen G22 to replace our G23/G22/G27s. We tested the 4th gen G22 against the M&P 40 and the Glock came out on top. We're waiting for the bid process to get finished (for the 3rd time) and also for the release of the 4th gen G23s, for plainclothes/detectives. Hopefully, we'll get them soon.

We'd all like to hear more about the testing process and what happened if you can share, S.Kelly.

All I was told was we put 8000 rounds thru the Glock with no problems, in a short period of time. The S&W kept breaking down, something to do with the slide stop, tying up the gun. And everyone liked the Glock trigger versus the M&P trigger.

So I know some on this board are affliated with the NYPD, the largest LEO agency in the world and issues the G19. Any word on if the Gen 4 G19s have been T&E by NYPD?

I just got back from the range and got a chance to put 100 rounds through a G-19 gen4. WOW I want one......
Well the agency I work for is going to the Sig-250 in .357:mad::mad::mad: they are getting rid of our wonderfull P229's. I wish the gen 4 would of been out for the testing. The one I shot today had the mid-size back strap and it felt like it was made for my hand.
I have a gen-3 19 and I really like it but the new gen-4 I is the Shit. I think the trigger could use some work, but the recoil was non exteant..

Their loss if they haven't...

If I didn't have an emotional attachment to them, all my other pieces would have been gone by now...that's how much I like my Gen4 G17 and G22...

Well, maybe not the Kahr .45's...

It was up to the individual officer to purchase his choice of Glock, Sig, or S&W models in 9mm. Has that changed?

Kevin

So, to be sure, did the Glocks break or malfunction?

My information may have not been correct, I read it in the GLOCK Annual FWIW.
