Anyone have experience with a particular make/model? Looking to order one in a couple of days. Want to be able to seal up to the 5gal. bags. Don't want to use an iron.

A lot of people really like the "HotJaw". A little pricey at $110, but they're supposedly very durable. HTH

As a foodie, I picked up Sorbent's VS-280 vacuum sealer for my kitchen needs, but quickly realized that in addition to dry aging $6/lb NY strip steaks from Costco (that sell for $25+/lb at the gourmet groceries), it could be used to seal all sorts of things.....ammo, trail mix, shampoo, spare parts for your rifle, etc etc etc. The sealer itself is probably not wide enough for a 5 gal bag.....

Wonder if my wife's hair straightener would work!?:D
