Viable budget item?

I'm in the market for some soft armor that won't break the bank.It won't be seeing regular use. It'll basically be hanging in the closet for peace of mind and making occasional trips(after an initial testing period).I'd like to possibly even get 3-4 sets...Which makes the cost an even bigger issue.

It's tempting for the price...

Anyone used(or even handled) one of these?I'm assuming there's both font and back coverage(IIIA)?...Any idea of what the actual material used for the armor and who makes it?It worries me that this isn't being advertised(and the lack of info in general).

Edit-It apparently does include front and back inserts.

ummm. well as an armor designer and manufacture, i would say, for the price, you don’t get much, its small, coverage wise.... it does not look that adaptable, and well "berry Compliant" could mean a lot of things these days with the way laws are being changed, and bent.... but hay it is multi cam.... there’s where the price comes from... but anyway back to topic. for the average day to day in SHTF, it looks to be a somewhat viable option, the stitching looks good, but i would reinforce the drag strap. but if you’re going up against anyone remotely knowledgeable about armor, or military tactics, i would opt for something a little more.... well more... just IMHO.... you can get something else for the same.. And maybe a little more money, that is a lot better... i don’t have any personal experience with that one, but with my 10 years in the business, i can tell a lot from reading about it, and looking at it..

Plus....

http://stores.greygrouptraining.com/-strse-3217/LOW-PROFILE-CARRIER/Detail.bok

Better coverage, better-than-reasonable cost, plate-capable.

Read more about it, plus load-carriage equipment, here: https://docs.google.com/View?id=drnhb8z_88c26jvfc7

If I was starting out all over again with new kit, it's what I'd likely go with, except I'd cough up the scratch for Dyneema panels.

That's definitely more confidence inspiring. The cost isn't out of reach either.

I'll have to look into the Dyneema...But it would mean putting off the purchase for quite awhile at that price.

Appreciate the input guys.
