I just got this UBR; fully collapsed, the stock body does not seem to go all the way forward. Also, I am unable to remove the stock body by following the directions.

I removed mine a couple months ago so I'm doing this off of memory. Does it lock in place when fully collapsed? If so, then I'd say no it's not defective. To remove it you have to fully extend it then pull the trigger thing and hold it while pushing in the release/remove button while pulling backwards.

Mine looks exactly like that when closed.

When you first get it the preset screw isn't in the last posistion.

You need to open the stock until it stops. Press the button marked "PRESET" on the left side of the stock and the release to slide it to its last posistion.

Then press the "REMOVE" button and the release to slide off.

You can only slide it off its rail if its in the fully extended posistion.

That worked, thanks. The Magpul directions are incomplete- they didn't mention the part about pushing the Preset button first.

Look in the manual when it talks about "bypassing the preset". I don't think the instructions are incomplete.
