Removing FSB sling swivel

I have wanted to remove the FSB sling swivel for a while now and today i am gonna do it. I figured you just punch it out, but am wondering if you need to support it some how, or drill it out first?

3/32" punch and hit it hard, no drilling required.

When I had one, I drilled the head off of one side and then pushed it out. I just held it in my hand. No supports.
