I have a Gen 4 G17 and I am not overly impressed with the Glock Slide Lock, certainly inferior to my G26. Is there a aftermarket item that has an aggressive and or larger slide lock? Certainly would make life easier when field stripping.

Thanks

There are larger aftermarket ones a large frame G21/20 may fit as well by I'm not 100% positive on that never tried it.

platoonDaddy, look at the MGSL (Match Grade Slide Lock) created by Mr. Graham. I have it on my Gen3 Glock 19. If you google MGSL or Mr. Graham, it talks about it extensively. It should answer some of your questions. The outsider serrations are aggressive and makes disassembling your gun easy.

Lone Wolf offers and extended version: https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1106&CAT=212

I've never used one but it sounds like it would fit your needs.

How much did you have to modify it in order for it to function as a slide lock?

I could be wrong, but I believe you confusing the extended slide release and slide lock.

My bad, I didn't read your original question close enough.
