This is the kit that includes the extended mag spring.

Personally, I would be a bit wary about mag extensions with the M&P.
I am not meaning to pee on the thread, just share some of my experience and misgivings.

I have had some situations where the rounds in the mags lodged together and locked up the magazine:
https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=51142

As a result, I now run extra strong springs in my M&P mags. I bought some ISMI extra power springs from speed shooters specialties and have since had no issues.

But getting back to the topic of the thread, since I know that M&P 9mm mags have a tendency to do this, I would be cautious about using the extension kit since the new spring might not exert the same pressure as the extra power ones that I use.

I am just trying the Arrendo mag extensions in my 9L and 9c..so far after about 200 rounds they work well...but i am gonna wait till a long class or training day till I decide how reliable they are

Ed L I have had the same problems as well as other issues. OP try some out over a few high round count classes and decide for yourself. I have my reservations based on my experience but many on here love them. Before you trust your life with them run them through the ringer.

Why not just buy Hi-Cap magazines?

mine are factory hicaps, but i thought 23 rds is better than 17rds

Between myself and my two buds that i train with regularly we have something like 15 of these units.

To date, i have been the only person that has ran into an issue and i believe it was 90% operator error, 10% design.

I was running the stock mag spring and upon reloading i managed to shift the baseplate off of the magazine. It was a fumbled reload and i had applied way too much lateral pressure on my reload resulting in the baseplate being stripped off.

Since then i have gone to the ISMI extra power springs and i havent had a single problem. Over 1200 rounds through these mags now and not a single issue.

I dont think any product is going to be perfect but these are serviceable IF you set them up right.

That is indeed the one really huge negative to these things.

They're downright expensive once you include the springs.
