I'm in the market for G35. Should I wait for Gen 4 or get the gen 3 in OD since they are being discontinued.

Thanks in advance.

Get the OD G35. If the gen 4 comes out and you have to have it, I'll buy your OD 35.:D

IIRC, Glock has no plans for a Gen4 35 or 34.

Well I did hear a "rumor" that they would be out by the end of the summer.

I suspect it was only rumor since the end of the summer is rapidly approaching.

Well if its true that makes the decision easier :)

ARGH! Serious?

Thats the rumor. I dont keep up with Gaston's decisions though, so it might have changed by now.

If they do come out with Gen 4 34's I'll snap one up. I was going to buy the current model but like the Gen 4's too much to go back. I would actually probably get a 35 Gen 4 as well now that I think about it.

The Gen 3 Glock 35s are very nice for shooting vs. a Gen 3 Glock 22.

Agreed. I much prefer the gen 3 35 over the gen 3 22. I would love to pick up a gen 4 35. Hopefully they will put one together.

Stand by for the Gen 4 G35 is my vote. The Gen 4 recoil system designed for the .40's could make the G35 something special. I'd wait and see.

I've seen statements and comments in multiple places lately that all Glocks will come out in Gen 4. Which only makes sense. It also makes sense that at some point Gen 3's will go away even if it years from now. But I don't pretend to have any special knowledge, just hearsay. Still I'll wait and won't buy any more gen 3 Glocks.

OD Green G35! Pretty soon they will be gone and I am betting increase in value even if used. You can always get a 4th gen later, if Gaston ever makes one. I am sure it's more likely than a slim-line 9mm and a Glock carbine.

Guess it depends on what you want to use it for, if it's self defense, duty etc.. might be worth waiting for (if it's even really in the plans, could be years or never, who really knows?), if it's for competition I'd definitly get the Gen 3.

While I still really like my Gen 4 G-22, it has two critical aspects against being a competition gun. First the trigger pull is heavier than nearly all Gen 3's, and while you can lighten it using the same tricks and springs as a gen 3, it's still likely always going to be heavier than the origianl model would be. Second the new recoil system which handles factory ammo so well, required me to bump up my competition loads because the recoil spring is heavier. In short heavier trigger, and requires heavier loads to function is not exactly a winning combo on a competition gun.

I would go with a Gen4 G35, but stick with a Gen 3 G34.

Best, Jon

Yes these are blue label Glocks, available to Glock certified armorers, LEOs, Military, Firefighters, GSSF members etc.

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I got to handle one of these at the IL Tactical Officers Association conference this week and they have a good feel to them. The trigger is nice too, much nicer than the Gen 4 G22's I have shot.

I will be buying one.

This would be due to the fact that 34's and 35's come standard with a 3.5 lb connecter. Change out the connecter in any of those 22's and it should be about the same.

I believe this was the LE "blue box" with the standard connector. I have changed many connector's and have owned several G22's, but the Gen 4 I shot had a heavy and gritty pull. I realize that was just one example and it may have been a fluke.

Just a thought for those of you lucky to have a G 35 or G 34 already who want a Gen 4 version.

Would buying a Gen 4 22 or 17 and swapping the "uppers" hold you over until Gen 4 competition guns come out?

Is there an issue with the new Gen 4 frames to prevent this. My formal Glock Armorer re cert is next year.

Every time I say I'm done with Glock, I somehow go back to them.

Curses!
