Looking for opinions/advice from the AK shooters regarding the differences between the Brown Bear, Silver Bear and Golden Bear ammo. Is one worth the price premium over the other? Intended for range use out to 100 yds.

Edit: Might be helpful if I stipulated 7.62x39...

I've shot all of the above from my VZ-58 and SKS's and can't tell much difference. I just buy Wolf FMJ now......

I've always used Brown Bear (both 55gr FMJ and 62gr HP) as my general plinking round and it's run great in my 16" LMT and 14.5" Colt uppers. Never any malfunctions or issues, love the stuff.

I don't shoot steel cased ammo in my AR, but my AK and PTR-91 both like the ''Bear'' ammo. I can't see anything wrong with any of them. I believe the only real difference is the case plating, they are all steel cased. Brown Bear just has a polymer to protect against rust, while Silver Bear is zinc coated and Golden Bear is brass plated. The problem with steel cased ammo will still exist (that is they do not expand to fit the chamber) but in an AK that's really a non issue.
