For myself, finding a range that I could shoot out to (and beyond) 1000 yards is very problematic living in the hills of SW PA. 300 yards is realistically the longest distance you're going to able to find near me.
To T&E a Pride-Fowler optic as well as get spun up for the LRI class I found and spoke to Tom Sarver (owner/instructor) to give me a hand. As a former scout sniper he is quite knowledgeable as a shooter and had some very nice facilities that allow you to shoot 12x12" steel out to 1.2 miles.
He runs semi-custom programs and can easily accommodate a private or semi-private lesson for the same per-day cost as a larger group class.
Every week they also host precision steel matches if anyone has any interest.
