This is the exact one I got. I am completely new to this series. Anything I should know? Anything I should buy for it? Where can I find aftermarket grips?

Thanks in advanced!

I have a Ruger 22/45. They are good to go as is, but if you want to make your's into more of a custom or competition pistol try out these guys. They have a large selection of grips.

Ultimate Clip Loader and a bunch of extra mags.

You may find you want an extended slide release or mag release, and a couple of companies offer those.

run it wet like an AR15, consider replacing the extractor with one of the high quality tool steel ones on the market.

good guns.

I have a MKIII 22/45, which is basically the same just a different grip. They are very accurate pistols and have a huge aftermarket.

Extra magazines and mag loader make shooting a little more fun. Make sure you buy the correct magazines. I Have a MKII and our mags will not work in eachohers guns SAME FOR MKI. I am not sure how the .22 .45 magazines work. I like mine stock. Keep in mind many aftermarket grips will not work for both righties and lefties.

Have fun they are great guns and cheap to shoot.

every now and then midwayusa has a sale on ruger mags for about $17. pickup and extra 3 (5 total) then order "the ultimate clip loader".

i actually run mine with remmy "dry" lube, it will stay cleaner long. the only thing that usually give people trouble is the LCI (loaded chamber indicator). the pivot point gets gunked up easily. some remove the metal part, or the whole thing. i bought a filler.

LEARN the assembly. watch 5 different vids on it before hand. trust me it will save you time and frustration.

LOL, spot on!

For those of you who suggest the "ultimate clip loader". . .

Is this the one? http://www.mcfaden.com/Clip_Loader.htm

I've got the Butler Creek for my Hot and Steel Lip10/22 mags and it saves a lot of time and effort. I'm guessing the McFaden is this for the handgun mags.

That is the one that has been recommended to me, here on M4C I think. Does any one know of one for the S&W 15-22 that was the worsk part o my range trip the other day those rounds are so tiny.

At a minimum, get a Volquartsen target sear. <$30.

I got the whole trigger kit for mine and it is the best pistol trigger I have felt. Like the proverbial glass rod breaking.

You can buy (or at least, you used to be able to buy) all the parts for a magazine directly from Ruger, put the parts together yourself and actually spend less than half the going rate for a magazine.

I want a PAC Lite too. I am on the look out for an inexpensive MKII to buy. I wish I could buy just a lower.

That's the one for the Ruger 22/45 mags and others. I brought my loader from Brownells.

I have a Butler Creek 10/22 magazine loader, too. Also a wonderful product. The McFaden loader and the Butler Creek loader have a very similar feed/hopper system.

Far as I know, there is no similar quickload product for the S&W M&P 15-22. At least ya'lls mags aren't horrible to load like the 22/45 mags are

na, they got smart years ago. they upped the mag bodies to about $20. at least they used to, not sure if they lowered them back down. but i also remember the days of building your own mags for around $9.

I just got a 22/45 model P512MKIII (SKU 10107). It has a plastic lower with the grips molded in: not removable. The grip feels much smaller than my 1911, especially the width. Since I got it for cheap practice, it's disappointing that it doesn't feel the same.
Does anybody make something that will improve the grip or do I have to try duct tape or body putty? I hate to screw up the lower, but it isn't acceptable as is.
Thumbs down to Ruger on this one:bad:.
