I met him (very very briefly) in the summer of 2001, when a detachment of MP's provided security for AF1. :)

I had the wonderful chance to work a detail when he came to Kentucky and spent the night on one of the cities horse farms.

He acted like a friend and normal guy when he was near you. The stories the SS shared with us were great. One of the guys said that it was common for him to want to go for walks in the middle of the night in Texas with his SS wearing the NVG's talking about family and current events. They also stated that he would commonly invite his detail in for dinner on a regular basis......

Class act is an understatement.
