Hello and welcome.
I think you are mistaking "BM" bashing with the truth that BM puts out a subpar product (at best). I am not sure why people get the two mixed up, but they do.

If you like BM and it runs well for you then great!

Welcome.

We deal in "actual reality" here at M4C. It is fine that you like BM and own one, but that does not negate the facts about their generally poor QC and non mil-spec components.

You'll find that the overwhelming number of poster on this site speak from personal experience, and not from some arbitrary viewpoint or "something they heard."

This site does not constitute brand "Kool-Aid Drinkers"; if Colt or LaRue or BCM or Noveske puts out something that is garbage, it will be noted here.

Thanks for the welcome!

my actual reality is,I have always wanted an ar15.
And because I am not in or connected with the millitary,
milspec is not a worry for my range toy.
On the other hand, when I build my shtf weapon.
That will be a different matter all together.

Thanks again.

Your welcome.

You don't have to be connected to the Military to want a good quality, reliable AR. 80% (or more) of the members on this forum are not in the Military. We do however value a high quality fighting weapon.

One of the goals of this forum is to make people aware that you do not need to spend a fortune for a Mil-Spec, TDP following weapon. Often times these higher quality AR's are the same price as a BM or $100 more. Not much to pay for a lot better weapon.

Thank you!

I'm thinking of changing my signature line to "bought a Bushy huh? Did you know that for 10% more money you could have had a 100% more gun?"

As a novice like yourself, I find DPMS not the most spectacular. In my very humble opinion, I'd stick with the following. More qualified industry professionals know much better than myself.

Lower Receiver

RRA
LMT
Stag Arms
POF
Sun Devil
Sabre Defence

Bolt Carrier Group

LMT AR15 and M16
FN Contracted AR15 and M16
BCM M16
CMT AR15 & M16

uppers:

BCM
Daniel Defense
Stag Arms
LMT
Sabre Defence
RRA

its my wife's pistol, not real happy right now.
likes to chamber a round when you slap in a magazine.
dont have to hit slide release.
well i shouldnt say chambers a round, more like an ftf.
looks like groove for slide release may not be quite deep enough.

I see. You'll find many guns will actually chamber a round if you *slam the magazine in too hard. Thats a fairly common phenomenon. Whats more alarming is its hanging up and causing a FTF.

a more gentle touch produces no probs.
its just when you slap the mag in is when problem surfaces.
any other time functions beautifully.
so i guess i will just let her play with her own toy!

Good question. Had one of the local LE academy instructors in the shop the other day and they said that they banned anyone from buying a Ruger HG for duty use.
