I picked up a TA31-RCO for my AR. The seller also had an RMR which he sold me for $100 as he explained it could be mounted on top of the ACOG by buying a $40 adapter ... the best I can find the correct top mount for is $105. So I'm considering other mounting options, such as an offset mount to put it beside the ACOG at an angle, etc. Or, just save it for another firearm. I read at least one other person saying that they were considering moving their RMR from the top of their ACOG to another position, so I don't want to invest in that mount if it's not the preferred location. Looking for input or things to consider or perhaps additional mounting options I've not found yet. What are some of the things you've done with RMRs?

Nah, an 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock offset in conjunction with a magnified optic is a workable setup.

3-gunners have been doing it for a while, now, and I recently came across a Force Recon Plt that had RCOs w/T-1s in an offset, so it's getting traction in military circles.

Probably a dumb question, but just want to clarify ... you are talking about 11 or 1 on the scope or 11 or 1 on the rifle (off of the picatinny down next to the bottom of the scope)? If up on the scope, do you know of an RMR mount that would permit that on a TA33? I've not seen one except for maybe the same Trijicon branded 4x Acog mount sells for putting it up top and perhaps spin it to one side a bit. Am I missing it? My AR knowledge is very limited ... all the guns I had growing up had lots of wood involved.

I'm talking offset from the rail on the receiver, by the rail interface of the primary optic where the mini-RDS is in line with the bore when the rifle is canted. I don't know of a mount that cants the mini-RDS on an ACOG variant, though I know they exist for other, more traditionally-configured scopes. La Rue

For the TA33, LaRue makes one for the Dr. Optic, but that doesn't work with the RMR, if I remember right (different footprint).

The one for the 4x from Trijicon probably wouldn't work due to the smaller diameter of the TA33 to begin with, plus it certainly wouldn't work in an offset angle because the forward shelf of the mount needs to mate up with the area where the fore and aft portions of the ACOG are joined. The way the screws that join those two halves are different on the TA33 (has a nub that houses one of the screws protruding from the top) than they are on the TA11 or any of the 4x varaints (flat tops).

I picked up a deal from CGoodwin here in the EE on a RMR package that comes with a Danial Defense DD-15000 1 o'clock or 11 o'clock mount and I plan on adding it to an ACOG TA31RCO just like yours. I could swear that trijicon made a mount that would mount the RMR on top the TA31..
I think it is the one you are speaking of though a buddy of mine go scope eyed by his ACOG using that set up. I would go with the 1 o'clock or 11 o'clock mount it I were you...

Just picked up the new adjustable LED RMR 3.5 MOA from Botach for $479.00...the best deal I've been able to find by far. But I'm looking for a lower 1/3 co-witness mount, other than the Trijicon version (not a big fan of the thumb screw). No luck so far so I'm probably going with an absolute co-witness mount from American Defense, an AD-RMR-CO, not my first choice, but not a bad one either. I was just wondering if anyone out there has come up with a good solution for a lower 1/3 mount for an RMR. Called LaRue, and they have nothing in the pipes, too bad.
