Why is 3 screws a must?
These are some of the best made rings I could find, the bases have a good rep, too. http://egw-guns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_128&products_id=180
Knowing how EGW makes parts, I'd put them up against anyone in the industry.

RE Badger Ordnance:
You only need the six screw if you are shooting a heavy magnum or need to replace the front top cap to hold a NV device etc.
You dont mention what size scope you have so I cant tell you which ring set you would need but here are the basics:
40mm obj=306-08 .823" tall
50mm obj=306-20 .885" tall
56mm obj=306-21 1.0" tall
They also make a flat/zero cant base, 306-06F
I sell a lot of these rings and bases and try to keep them in stock.
its a night force bench rest 8x32x56 going on a 700 mil specrifle.thank you
how much are your rings and base plate for the remington 700 mil spec? you have a siteto go to?

Folks, no need for more than four total screws on a single ring unless you have a Simrad Cap.
My favorite rings are the Nightforce Ultra Lights.
Badger is favorite base.
That combo has served me very well.

do you think on a remington 700 milspec 5r rifle{a new one}i ll have to bed the base plate?plus i dont need a 20 moa,im shooting at 100 200 300 yrds.thats it.i dont think badger makes a 0 moa do they?havent seen one.egw does but i dont know about there quality.i like ken farrells.even night force but cant find a 0 moa in night force.my scope is a bench rest 8x32x56.do you think there quailty is good enough so i dont have to bed the base?

Badger does, in fact, make a zero MOA base (http://www.triadtactical.com/Badger-Base-306-06-Flat.html).

As mentioned, your 56mm NF would use Badger 1" rings. They do make a zero cant rail, but with a 20 moa rail, you can still get a 100yd zero, so why not use one. It gives you much more potential distance, and if you ever try to get rid of it it will be much easier to move a 20moa over a flat rail.
If your action is drilled for 8-40, we can take care of that too.

I would always bed the base and lap the rings. and EGW is good to go. Why not a conventional base?

the conventional base with rings would be fine.who makes a good quailty one.one i dont have to re tap the screw holes and re thread them.
