Guys,

I'm looking for a new "short" vertical fore grip for my new upper set up (VLTOR CASV-M).

I was contemplating getting either the Tango Down short VFG or the Larue QD VFG because of their short size, but then the Magpul VFG came to my attention.

I have looked for the dimensions of the Magpul VFG, but couldn't find anything (not even on the Magpul website surprisingly) and was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of the Magpul, Larue and TD grips.

Thanks in advance.

The Magpul VFG is 4 7/10 inches, I just measured it :) That measurement is from the top of the grip that connects to the rail to the very bottom of the grip.

I am a big fan of the standard Tangodown stubby VFG. it feels right especially with the curve section near the rail, your hand rest there quit easily.

I am not a fan of QD VFG, it adds weight and does nothing for me. the two tabs on the standard TD VFG its all I need to in case I need to remove the VFG quickly.

the Magpul VFG is also a good choice due to its price. but it will require a tool in case of removal of the VFG is required.

You can dremel the Magpul RVG to the exact size you want and there's a little room for storage but nobody makes a plug yet. The TG and Larue have a small storage compartment.

I use standard non QD tango down VFG that I cut very short. Maybe 2", I will have to measure. It fits perfect with my grip style as more of a handstop, with 2-3 fingers making contact with the grip.

Solid. Can you post a pic of that?

I got the TD stubby a few months ago and love it, then about a month ago I got the AFG and it's sweet but it just feels to big to me (very comfortable just a little to big).
I didn't want the LaRue FUG because I thought it was over priced and just another grip. Anyway I got a FUG in a trade last week and I have been very surprised at how much I like it. I put those rubber strips around the FUG and it is awesome! I have it on the smallest size and with the rubber it's very comfortable.
Try them all out if you can, see what fits your hand the best and go with it. Good luck

I prefer the new Daniel Defense VFG. It comes with an insert for attaching a weaponlight pressure pad. Remove the pressure pad insert and it becomes a short VFG. Lightweight and durable.
