I was thinking of purchasing a CMMG .22 LR conversion kit for training, however I was concerned about how 40 grain .22 LR bullets would work in a 1/7 barrel. Any thoughts?

The conversion will run fine. Accuracy will probably be plinking at best.
I don't have a 1/7. I do have a 1/8 that gets about 2-3" at 50 yards with bulk ammo.
Copper wash works best. I like the Winchester 555 or 333 for cheap. Mini mags work well also.
It is what it is. Accuracy will come with a 1/16 .22 barrel. CMMG has dedicated uppers for $350.
Accuracy with a conversion is usually good enough for training/plinking purposes.
