My question is I have a CDD-LED and concidering purchasing the BCM Standard 16" Mid Length (LIGHT WEIGHT) Upper Receiver Group (.625FSB) to change to the mid length gas system, or would it be easier and possibly cheaper to purchase just the barrel, gas tube, FSB assembly.
Any input is greatly appreciated

If you consider the possibility of selling your old upper, it makes more sense to just buy the new one (and a new BCG) and sell off the old setup. Also, you will be assured of reliability with a new complete upper properly assembled with a top notch BCG. Then you can sell the old upper and BCG on gunbroker.com and recover a bunch of the money you spent on the newer and better upper.

yea dont disassemble it, just sell the old upper and get a new one. Thats what I did to replace one of my carbine systems, sold my upper to a friend

Thank you both for the advise. It never really clicked to just buy a complete upper and sell the other :o

I have never used the site you mentioned to sell or buy. I will check it out now. TY

I want to keep my DD lite rail so think the upper would still sell less the rail?

It will sell best if you put some plastic handguards on it, and leave the bolt carrier group and charging handle on it. When you get then new upper from BCM, just get their BCG and their nice charging handle and you will not only have a top rate rig, but you will also have a more desirable upper for selling because it is complete.

Keep the old one, buy the new one and buy another lower and have two guns ;)

Wait... would my 7" DD lite rail fit out to the FSP on a mid length gas upper?
Sorry if that is a dumb question I'm still new to all this.
If this all works out I will just buy a complete BCM upper less the hand guard and do as 500grains said put some standards one I'm selling.

Thanks

Make sure to get rid of that crappy CD bolt carrier group too and get a good one from BCM with your new upper.

A 7.0 rail is for a carbine gas system.

It would be 2" short, you need a 9" rail for a mid length upper with FSB.

I just got that upper, although I ordered the Light Weight barrel instead of the CHF barrel. That middy/9" rail combo is sweet.

Add a BCM BGC and a Gunfighter CH and you're GTG.
