Thanks to the the forum owner's permission, I would like to do a giveaway here to reciprocate for all that I have received as a member of this truly educational as well as entertaining group. In fact I don't know why didn't think of this simple idea sooner, to be honest.

While I have helped for the past 15 years off and on, for the last year I have had the great privilege to run field operations as VP for the company Loksak ( www.loksak.com ). Some of you, especially those in the service likely know of us by now. Our bags are used extensively by the military and particularly so by numerous Spec Ops personnel to keep not only sensitive items dry but also micro-sand free, this with tremendous success.

As a result of working with the company, owned by a family member, I have been exposed to some of the most interesting and respectable members of our military and their close associates. Business has been booming and to me that is a true blessing in this economy, especially since as some of you may remember I almost lost everything a few years ago when a generous salary disappeared as the housing market plunged.

Anyway, I don't want this to be a commercial, just a giveaway. All I will say about our bags is that they are extremely effective and have a huge array of practical uses both in the field. On top of the military, we now sell to hunters, campers, beach goers, fisherman, boaters, law enforcement, FBI Hazmat, Dept. Of Home Land Security (Border Patrol), etc, etc.

The list grows every year and this year in particular has been stellar for us. I tell you this mostly so that in case you do not know of us you have some understanding as to what this is about. This brief write up by a National Geographic editor will also help clarify the products, describing how touch screen devices can be used while safely sealed inside the bags: http://www.theadventurelife.org/2009/02/gear-review-worlds-best-outdoor-iphone-accessory/

I am going to give two separate packages out, so there will be two winners. Each will contain a wide variety of our different sized bags and several accessories that we also manufacture to house them in various ways.

The contents will be a few of each size of our individual bags, ranging from our smallest (5"x4") up to our rifle sized bags (12"x48"). There will also be a couple of laptop bags (16"x24") in each package. These allow for a laptop to be used safely under any environmental circumstance (but maybe not a tornado).

I will also include 3 Splashsaks with each group, one Navigator Map Case, one tan Arm Pak and one tan or black PDA Neck Caddy. They come with 2 bags inside each as well. Figure about $70 plus in merchandise per group, maybe more.

You can look here to get a better idea as to what I am referring to: http://www.loksak.com/products

Numbers will range between 1 and 1,000. The two people closest to the pre-determined numbers will be notified at the end of the giveaway, which will be next Sunday, Sept 5th at 9PM. I will send a copy of the pre-determined numbers to the staff shortly so everyone knows I am not playing favorites.

Thank-you folks and good luck to all that choose to participate.

Edit: Forgot that due to the 200 post minimum some can't request a number. If you are interested, you can PM me and I will gladly put your number up for you.

laptop locsak..... i need. i'm not finding it on the website- have a direct link? BTW- the website is sort of hard to navigate/understand... for me, at least. just thought i'd mention it. you know how people are: if it's hard, they give up pretty quick.

i've been using loksaks for about... 6-12 months? good product. the 4x5's are excellent for wallets and PDAs (also highly interested in the PDA-specific bag, now that we're headed into winter), the rifle bags are great for marine application, the middle-sized bags keep mags clean/dry.. anything you need to stay clean and/or dry. i've got a bolt soaked in a PB/Marvel mix stored in a 4x5 sak... hasn't eaten through yet, hasn't leaked through the zipper- and that shit will leak through basically anything that isn't welded.

Thank-you very much for the kind words, really appreciated. The laptop bags are designated as 16"x24", with the 16" being the seal length.

As far as navigating our site, I have been giving this a tremendous amount of thought recently. Some recent changes were made, but more may be needed I agree. I have ideas that I have submitted to our designers, we will see how they play out with the company president.

But BK if you have any suggestions as to how to improve it just PM or post here if you like. Might just earn you a 2 pack of laptop bags. :)

Thank-you to everyone who has participated so far. With some of the nice responses I am probably going to feel guilty at the end, only having 2 packages to send out.

I just received my prize from Loksak today and all I can say is, WoW and Thanks! Very generous assortment of waterproof bags and other stuff. It will take me some time to really go through it all and see what's there.

I can definitely use this stuff and will put it to good use. Thanks again to the folks at Loksak for supporting our troops and M4carbine.com members!

Thank-you. And please remember that while the bags will cloud a bit with use, it is simply aesthetic. The film is extremely strong and will last for years.

It's the seal that will eventually wear down over time. But the bags are relatively inexpensive and we sell 2 to 3 per pack, so replacements aren't really an issue in that respect. Just check them periodically after they get used a lot or simply discard if they get too beat up.
