DD Omega install problem--- help please

I've tried the search function three times on two different computers and it won't return any results, don't know why so I'm asking a question that has surely been asked before.

Why doesn't my DD Omega 7.0 (10001) rail fit on my Bushmaster Patrolman carbine?

Problem is the front ring in front of the gas block is too big and doesn't allow the rail to seat. What did I miss?

I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but maybe you'll see a step you missed or something similar. I'm sure somebody more experienced will come around shortly if this doesn't help.

Thanks Smurfy, I figured it out. I was thinking something had to fit together that isn't supposed to fit together. Got it now.
