Care to elaborate on which model that is exactly, for those of us who haven't memorized Colt's part numbers?

ETA: With that said, it's a fair price on almost any XSE and I've only been hearing good things about the Colt's being built lately.

A quick look at the website does not show a model 01880xse.

Could it be a 01980?

Sounds like the XSE model 80 series. It could either be a newer one with the real beavertail, or an older one with the old style colt not quite a beavertail.
I bought one of the older style not quite a real beaver tail two years ago. First thing I did was drop a Cylinder and Slide series 80 safety in it. (Brownells, I think 30 bucks or so). I shot it for about 500 rounds (had no issues) then polished everything internally, and it has run like a top. No issues so far(knock on wood), I have close to about 5k through it. I like 1911s, they are my goto guns, and would carry it daily if I could. Sometimes its hard to carry a full size anything in the heat of El Paso.
I paid 900ish, and would do it again. The bad with it, is it is a Series 80 safety more moving parts, so if you carry it ( I do and dont think about it), do yourself a favor and drop a good safety in it.
I dont think you will regret it. But I caught the 1911 syndrome 15 years ago, and I just cant shake it.
