I've just finished a book written by Ishmael Beah that is an amazing resource for anyone looking for information/research pertaining to civil war (especially in Sierra Leone region), and its' effects on the people/youth of the regions involved.

Basically, I felt that this is a very powerful piece of literature, and wanted anyone with some time on their hands to check it out. It's definately worth-while.

The official title is "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier"

Please take time to read it if you are at all interested n the hardships of other human beings in different areas or regions of the world. I know it was a real eye-opener for me, as I never imagined that war could affect innocent people such as this. Especially the children.

Can anyone post any suggestions for literature that focuses on our current state of military usages, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, anywhere else? I'm very interested in these types of first-hand encounters, and like to experience it from both sides... if possible.

Thanks guys.
