Both subs are in like new condition and I still have/will ship in the original boxes with original packing. I've lowered the price to $1200 for both subs and think that would be a good price considering the condition and the age of the subs, they're like new, and the subs were received December of 2009. They've been used in a non-smoking house. Both subs have speaker grills but one was removed for pictures.
I've never experienced any sort of noise or hum from either sub. I leave them in standby mode and they turn on & off automatically when a signal is sent from the receiver. I have never had a single issue with either sub in any form and have no problem saying that they are performing 100%. In our house they've done exceptionally well with our Salk SongTower 5.2 set up and our primary listening is HT at about 80% and 20% music. Without exception I would highly recommend the Sentinels regardless of whether you choose to buy them or not. My only reason for contemplating upgrading them is moving to a house and listening room that has over double the square and cubic feet and I think we might need just a little more "oomph!".
