Have a M&P 40, Picked up a set of green truglo fiber optics with tritrium inserts.
Replaced the front.. Have a sight pusher tool.
Now to the rear. Is the the rear the same as the front? pushes out left to right( as if holding the firearm?

More importantly is anything going to go "SPROING" and launch inself across the room? As I move the sight out of the dovetail?

Yes and yes. There's a coil spring beneath the rear sight.

I always use a small, flat shim to finish bumping the rear sight out, the shim holds the spring in place until the sight is out.

I have heard of guys putting the slide assembly into a zip loc bag, so the bag captures the spring & plunger when it goes flying. I've never tried it, but I can see it might work.
