Need some help making up my mind. My brother has a ML2 w/4 M.O.A. (which used to be mine) and my friend has a ML3 w/2 M.O.A. that they're willing to sell to me. Which one would you get and why? Which M.O.A. do you prefer also?

I have both and like both. Depends on what you want to do with it. If you ever thing you may want to use it with a magnifier, then get the 2 moa. If you dont ever plan on using a magnifier, and are happy with the results you get from the 4, then go that way. I dont have a problem making hits with either.

2 MOA is my choice.

YMMV

I like the 2 although I don't own one. You can always turn up the brightness to make it seem bigger, but you can't turn the 4 down enough to make it that small.

With that said, I had no problems making hits out to 200 yards with a 6933 with the 4 MOA model.

In bright outdoor sunlight.. the 4MOA is brighter and faster to acquire for me .

The C is CQB stands for Close.. if I want precision... I use something else.

I use an Aimpoint for Fast multiple tgt scenarios.. the 4MOA is my choice.

Either one works.. 4 MOA just works better for me...

I've never lacked for precision with the 4 MOA dot. The secret is using aiming offsets when the dot covers too much.

Like Harv says, the 4 works swell when you need to take care of business pronto and up close. But it works just as well at longer distances if you know what to do.

I can't agree more. All of mine are 4 MOA.

What he wrote.

4 MOA is faster. 2 MOA more precise.

I use the 4 MOA as I hit with it, and it is fast.

+1, My eotech had a 2 and my current aimpoint has a 4. A 4 dot is hard to center on an 8 inch target past 100 yards. For me anyway.

I wrote this a year ago on this board in a simular discussion:

I have (2) ML2's with the 4 MOA and (2) ML3's with the 2 MOA dot. I prefer the 4 MOA as it's much easier to pick up quickly.

I perfer the 4 MOA dot instead of the 2 MOA dot. The 4 MOA dot is easier to see under extreemly bright conditions (sun reflecting off the snow, etc). Some guys get wrapped around the axel about precision shots with a 4 MOA dot. This is a non-issue because at 300 yards the dot is only 12" in diameter, not big enough to cover a man's chest. At distances over 300 yards you are going to be holding over the target, so you don't have to worry about the dot covering up your target.

I have been using the Aimpoint on entries for the last 6 or 7 years in all types of conditions....Last weekend I wast using this gun (Aimpoint ML2) to shoot steel a steel gong (18" - 24" in size) at 450 yards. I missed the first shot as I was aiming too high. I put the dot so that the bottom 1/5 of the dot was covering the top 1/5 of the target and hit the next 19 shots in a row....In the prone position my only support was using the magazine as a mono-pod:

0-50 yards: 4MOA dot
0-300+ yards: 2MOA dot.
If you plan on using a magnifier: 2MOA dot.

For what its worth, 8" plates at 200-250 yds have never been a problem for me with a 4 moa Aimpoint.

My ML2 (4moa) works well out to 5-600M. 7-800M are a crapshoot but doable once I get a grip on the elevation needed. The 14.5" barrel isn't doing me any favors either, and yes I use my magnifier for the long shots.
