Why do Noveske barrels already have the gas block installed?

Doesn't it just need to be taken off to install the barrel nut for a free float rail? Or is it so small that a barrel nut will slide over it?

Once the pin is put in place for fit, why would they take it out to ship it separately, and loose packed? Just one more thing to do for them, in a production line, and one more thing to get lost.

Once the gas block is pinned they need to stay together as an assembly.

No, a barrel nut does not fit over a gas block.
