I was in Academy looking for a Ping Pong table and picked up the circular and saw this survival kit with a 9mm in what looked to be a pelican case with blankets and food for a few days. They were sold out so I didn't get to see it. Anyone pick up one? Can you tell me about it? Was it a Pelican case? I just want it to keep in the car.

Opinions please.

Damn good marketing idea, and hopefully the people buying them will actually get to the range with them rather than just throwing it in the back of the car and forgetting about it.

I'm guessing it was something along the lines of their wilderness/bear country survival kits they had a while back. They were available in both 460 and 500 S&W, had a gun, multi tool and other goodies all in one package.

I like the idea, but it doesn't follow the information presented by FEMA and .Gov which does not mention ANYTHING about owing a firearm for disaster preparedness. I'm suprised the ATF has not stepped in to advise S&W that.... "There is no need for a firearm in a disaster, the government will take care of you..." with a wave of their hand...:suicide:

I love the idea of the pelican case! I am very familiar with the Sigma series weapon and there would be no need for this to be anywhere but in the trunk because I have used the Sigma regularly for years.

This is the greatest marketing idea every. Now if they would add the M&P like this or even if Glock got on the band wagon.
