GG&G Remington 870 Flashlight Mount

This is the flashlight mount I have on my 870P and I really like it.

It is solid and doesn't add a lot of bulk and weight to the front end.

They just cut out a piece of the forend to make room for thier mount which mounts to the magazine tube. The part you can't see it a ring on the back side of that rail that goes around the magazine tube.

Anyone else use this?

Yep, I have one on my 870 as well...waiting for my Form 1 to come back so I can put a 14" bbl on it. I stick either a Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR1 on it, it's a nice setup for camping in the mountains of Wyoming.

FWIW, they now make this forend for the Mossberg pumps as well......

Sorry to necropost here, but I'm curious as to how the mount is holding up. Also, has anyone used any other gg&g shotgun accessory? Are they worth the money/gtg? :ph34r:

I haven't put a lot of rounds through it, but the thing is solid as a rock and I can't imagine it ever failing.

Sorry, that's the only shotgun widget I have from them, but I've had some of their AR stuff and it seems to be of excellent quality.

Not a lot of rounds thru mine either, some slugs and 00 buck at the range. That mount is solid as a rock.

Going to use this 870P in a handgun/shotgun NRA LE instructor certification class this May.

How many full threads you have left holding that cap on?
Does it go on enough to lock into the spring cover?

Not sure what cap or spring cover you are talking about.

But I have a Wilson Combat one round extension on the shotgun.

The pictures below show the mount slides over the magazine inside the modified GG&G forearm which comes with the mount. You need a special wrench to get that castle nut off, but it tightens up just fine. Other than that the mount doesn't have any affect on the magazine cap.

I'm running one of these GG&G mounts on my 14" 870. I also agree it is rock solid. I have several hundred rounds down range with it on, no issues at all.

I use a GG&G sling mount as well on the same 870. No issues either. GG&G makes good stuff.

Thanks guys. Now I have a stupid question for y'all. If you were going to run a light without a tape switch, would you choose the right hand or left hand version? I am right handed and I'm thinking that the left hand version would make it easier to run a light similar to the g2, g2x, or 6px with the gg&g ring and without a switch. Opinions?

I was thinking it went over the mag tube and was held on by the magazine cap
but after viewing the pic's I can see how it's mounted on the forend tube and held on by the tube nut
btw the spring cap I was referring to is the mag spring retainer which would be mute when using the ext
Definitely going to look into picking one up after seeing it tho

While the left rail might be easier to work a light with your support thumb, assuming a right hand shooter, if you shoot with your support thumb forward, that rail might beat the heck out of your thumb in recoil. I run a Surefire Scout light on the right side, with a momentary press switch.

That's a good point. I might look into getting a tapeswitch or trying out a streamlight tlr1 when it becomes pertinent.

I have a pressure switch on the right side of the gun. I use my finger tips to activate it. It works great and I have trained with it at night.

And I use 3M VHB Heavy Duty clear mounting tape on the switch to give it a good secure mount.
