I just started a T&E for my unit on a base and mount(s) sourced from TALBOT. As someone who believes LARUE is the shiz-nik I must say that in my short time with the rig Im indeed impressed with it as a whole and any opinon and exp. w/same by other users would be most "Thank Youd" by me.

Al is the MAN! Im down the road myself at Selfridge--working now as a matter of fact. I e-mailed Al one day describing a problem w/our TA-51 ACOG mounts that we are using and the next thing I know...mail is here...with a possible fix to our problem(s)! As soon as we put the base/mount(s) through some 'workouts' I will post our findings here. But I think its safe to say that TALBOT has a new fan and I will use his rigs on my P.O.W.'s.

Does this company have a website?

ETA: Never mind Talbot QD Mounts (http://www.talbot.us/)

I wonder how this differs from Leupold's traditional QD system.

It differs greatly. It is like nothing, as far as I know, that is out there now. Look--Ill be the first to say that LARUE is the way to go for all of your tac. needs. However, TALBOT should NOT be overlooked. The quality is first rate as is Al Talbot himself. He offered to hand carry and demo his mount for us here at SANGB and basicly said "do what we may" during our T&E. :D
