Is it possible to run a 11.5" barrel with a mid-length gas system? I was planning to cut a 14.5" lightweight mid-length barrel to 11.5" and install it in a mid-length KAC URX rail. I am also planning to run this upper suppressed, which gas system will be better, carbine or mid-length? And will a micro gas block go inside the URX rail if I run a mid-length gas system? Any input would help, thanks in advance.

AFAIK, no, it's not possible.
why do you want to?
eleven five carbines are already solid systems

coz I have a 14.5" lightweight middy barrel and maybe it would be economical for me to cut it down to 11.5" than buy another barrel
gotcha..
it wouldn't be a good idea. you'd spend a lot of time and money on something that probably wouldn't work.
what kind of 14.5 mid is it? i can almost guarantee somebody out there would trade you. either for a 14.5 carbine that you could have cut down, or maybe even for an 11.5. post it in the equipment exchange
If you have money to invest it would be interesting to see. My guess is that you are also going to have to tweak the gas port.
I would like to see a 13.7 mid-length using Novekse barrels.
