I know that everyone would rather get issues and problems squared away during training.

What I'm wondering is if anyone likes to throw a wrench in the works here or there to intentionally cause problems? Like a dummy round in a magazine, or maybe practicing drills with a less than reliable long gun/ammo to clear more malfunctions?

The guys I train with do, we regulary practice type I-II malfuction drills with our Carbines and blasters.

the use of dummy rounds adds to this quite well.

make sure you get the brass cased trainers the plastic ones after time get chewed up really well....

As a wise man once said we only practice what we are good at or like to do.

I consider training and practice two different activities.

During practice I think it's a great idea to induce malfunctions and practice stoppage reduction. I think any kind of crappy blasting ammo is okay for practice purposes, and crappy magazines as well.

In a training scenario I want my firearms, mags and ammo running 100%. The only stoppages I want to reduce are the instructor created ones.

Typically in a training setting stoppages and problems will show up without having to intentionally induce them.
