It is one of my Bobro Bipods. I love those things, they are my "go to" bipod almost every time.

That's most likely a QD socket.

This is a 7.62x39, upper from PSA. I added UTG handguards. Lower was a stripped PSA I put together, H3 buffer. 3X Primary Arms prism with ACSS reticle. About 400 rounds through it, not trouble so far with 20 round ASC magazines

It seems like they are a fairly small area where you are shooting and would think it would be very loud and have severe concussion when you were shooting rifles. I'd enjoy hearing from someone with experience using them.

At this particular range the concussion is not an issue, at least I've never noticed any. The noise from the adjoining bays does come into your bay, but if you wear ear pro it's a non issue. I prefer these because I can run a target out to 100 yards if I want, and these are set up like a private room once you close the door behind you. The only problem is everybody else likes them too, and the wait list can be rediculously long sometimes.

I noticed the 20 inch barrels on their site so I asked them about a complete upper or firearm. They got back to me and said they had a 20 inch complete gun they would sell me and discount it because they were moving. I added the kac rear sight as it didn't come with one.

Neato...I'd hang on to that rifle for sure. Could be worth quite a premium as LMT stock continues to rise. I also wonder if it has a Mike Rock barrel. Bet it shoots lights out.

Thanks brother. The HK is my freckled red head. It’s the second AR I ever bought and it was sold to me at cost during the craze because a vendor screwed me on a USP Expert. I’m waiting for my 416A3 gas block to show up so I can start playing with different ammo when shooting suppressed.

My First AR build. Almost done. In NJ all comps have to be pinned and welded anyway so I went with 14.5 BCM upper. It is a BCM 14.5 Standard Govt profile Midlength barrel, which now realize I made a mistake not getting a LW barrel on this setup. Now the question is if I sell the upper for a LW setup, or just learn to shoot the damn thing as-is and deal with the 4 ounces extra on the end.

Enjoy the build though , I wouldn’t worry about the little bit of extra weight either. Unless you’re planning on slugging that thing cross country through the backwoods for weeks at a time, you won’t notice the difference.

I do like that setup though.

It's timed to the right for right-handed shooting. Timing it neutral gives adequate recoil reduction, but if you want to squeeze out the most it's generally recommended to time it to your dominant side. YMMV

Thank you! My gunsmith had to help me out on this one. The Noveske Gen 1 upper receiver was a chainsaw upper and the rear lug was too wide, it wouldn’t seat correctly in the Gen 3 lower without some force. He ended up machining barely 1mm off each side and it mounts as it should now. He hasn’t shot too many AR’s recently(he’s an AK builder) and was pleasantly surprised how light it shot.

Left handed in writing, but I shoot right-handed. I taught myself to shoot right-handed as I'm cross-eye dominant, but I find it easier to shoot left-handed on older guns with traditional, one-piece stocks for some reason.

Yes, extensively. I haven't ported any of these over to Google Sheets, which I do for every other activity for cost/performance min/max engineering.

The biggest thing I've determined from doing all that is that the heart wants what it wants, and whatever mashup of concepts from this thread I want to have join my pile, I'll make it happen no matter what. The other theme is that I'm always incredibly happy with my 'leftover/trash' builds, because they'll always outperform expectations. Anything in between, I'm never happy.

I started doing it as a way to track how much money I was/am spending. It’s interesting. I have hit the point where I mostly sell stuff/something if I want something new. This helps me stay on top of that. And, perhaps sadly, I kinda enjoy it.

I use a list app on my phone. It’s more of s shopping list but I don’t delete anything after buying it so I can add up all the stuff to see total value. Helps a lot when trying to figure out insurance. I use My Gun Database on the computer to track round counts and used to keep it updated with all of the prices from my shopping list, but have fallen off with that. I need to just build a spreadsheet for it all.

V.1 & V.2 of my 14.5"s

The evolved V.2 kept many of the same things, but significantly upgraded things at the expense of adding a bit over a .5lb to the end product. I hope my new V.2 turns like V.1 which to date has over 4k rounds through it without a single failure of any kind. V.1 was significantly more KISS with the 300m micro rear sight, Mk4 proto, DD mid pencil barrel, and M300 scout. V.2 in theory should be way more bombproof being a MRP, and more reliable using an E carrier setup, and MRP profile carbine gas 14.5". WL effectiveness, and optic capability took huge strides forward on the V.2. The 1000lumens, and 2MOA/significantly reduced parallax were the most immediate, and noticeable improvements over their predecessors the T-1 4MOA/M300 old scout. Adding a full 600m adjustable rear sight vs. a fixed 300m sight on V.1 is another noticeable gain in capability.

I also made a conscience effort now with this build, and ones going forward to limit as much gas in the face as possible being a lefty especially. So V.2 got the ACH and the E carrier to specifically help address that aspect, whereas V.1 used a BCM standard CH & BCM BCG. We'll see as time goes on. I knew there was a reason why I didn't get an ACH before, and it's because once you do they kinda of ruin you to not having one. Triggers are the same I've found. V.1 still has Ferrari style controls with the SD-3G, FCD bolt catch/mag catch upgrades, and a BAD-ASS 45 throw. V.2 is an unmolested KAC OEM IWS lower outside of MOE + which are perfection imho. I miss the SD style trigger, and BAD-ASS 45 throw....but I like KAC's OEM config. enough due to the trigger feeling more like an SSA-E vs SSA, a super crisp ambi selector, and newer endplate with QD sockets design vs integral ones in the lower on the gen 1 IWS lowers.

Might get an UE tailcap to run a SR07 switch in the future, as well as buying a Super 42 kit. Outside of those two things, I intend to lock this one down. I figured I'd share some of my thoughts on the pic posted:)

I'm not sure about being king of the MPLA, but this one is one of two which was given to me by John Noveske. I have two others which were given to me by Richard Fitzpatrick, founder of Magpul. One of the ones from Richard is a super low digit serial numbered C series lower. The other, as well as the two give to me by John are A series (MPLA).

Glad to hear. If I had one I wouldn't let it go for $10k either so I'm glad to hear that you value it as much as I imagine I would. Some things are just more important than the money and, for me anyway those Magpul lowers fit that bill. Unfortunately, being on the outside looking in, make it that much more of a impossibility for me to ever possess.

Think I’ve got this pared down to where it needs to be. Bathroom scale puts this at 8 pounds on the nose (sans ammo), which I think is pretty good considering the Razor Gen II (non-E) and Geissele mount. Aero receivers, BCM BCG, Raptor CH, Surefire M600DF, Arisaka offset mount, MI offset sights. Sionics rail, LW barrel, and LPK.
