PT I is literally my favorite gun in the history of M4C.
Thank you. That means a lot here. It’s by far my least expensive rifle (6920HB Complete), grand total, I’m maybe only $1500 into that gun. I got the Aimpoint for free, and same with the SSA-E both Brand new. I still need a light for it, and CDQ sling mounts, so it’s not finished quite yet.
It’s the gun I get the most compliments on. I love it. Not to mention it’s by far my best shooter, with the proper gas port and socom barrel, it’s a beast.

Doc, the more I look at that gun, the more I'm appreciating how you configured it...solid set up. It looks well balanced with the parts/placement of different items.

Thanks. It has been a long road that has come a bit full circle. I started off with a SS Noveske 12.5 years ago with a 11.0 Goose-neck rail and a Short Dot and an LA5........ Now I have come back to this.

You should check out the ams machine / low-profile scout mount - it retains access to the forward rail screws and puts the light in the perfect spot.

The block 2 inspired Black LMT I posted a few pages back is gone, it lasted all of a week before I found a fella willing to give me a NOS Eotech SU231/PEQ and a wad of cash for it..
Cloner OCD prevailed, and my Block2 is 90% completete! Just a few thousand$ in lasers etc to go..

Things that I had to have, such as an enhanced Trigger Guard for my fat fingers, Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch because I’m putting them on everything, ASR 3 prong because I can’t go without my Can, and the tanadized reciever extension just looks badass... it’s a 4 pos. Colt, so it’s mostly correct anyway.
** denotes temporary and non correct parts that will be replaced soon.... I have a tan M600 on the way, the 6P is just a place holder..besides It’s fun to give it a little attention. I actually love the stupid outdated thing.
The BCM Grip will soon be replaced by either a taupe KAC A2, or a TangoDown FDE, maybe something else. I haven’t decided yet. The BCM is my favorite grip so I may just get one in FDE....
I looking to trade the gen2 black Sopmod for a Gen1 Coyote, and the Gasbuster for same in FDE... I want as many different shades of tan as possible... I wanna out color clash the FDE Scar with this one. Clone perfect is cool, but boring to look at. I want some flavor while maintaining as close to correct as possible.
Other future additions are a FDE Eotech G33.... and a PEQ15 way down the road after I get nods.
Maybe eventually a Surefire Socom supressor at which point I can put on the correct 4 prong. I’ll survive with my SiCo for now... the BE Meyers asr249 4 prong might find its way on in the meantime... still pretty spendy, but way better looking than the SiCo ASR 3 prong.

Start with making the silhouette, I used this app here. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190727/428d7649fd515f85a054a695c6d73fb0.jpg I made two, one white, one black. Depending on the background is, I choose either color.

Any issues with the Rattler upper on AR lower?
Have you shot it suppressed? If so, how's gas and function?
I haven't take her out yet. I recently got back stateside for the birth of my daughter. I also had a pile of boxes from everything I ordered while I was gone (which included the Rattler kit). I'll be heading back out to work soon but I'm going to try and get all the new rigs out to the range for a spin before I do.

I just don't feel like catching any lip from some alpha tango foxtrot white knight. haha I'm sure anyone might be able to infer what's there BUT I think it's just a dark patch on the concrete... just saying haha

the only thing i would probably change would be adding a redi-catch to make that qd cup lower full ambi. you can't see it in the pic but i've been running one on the bottom rifle for a while now and really like being able to lock the bolt back without breaking my grip.

What are the details on that upper with the URX 4? Is that the CQBL? How does it hold up to the application of that upper?

I'll add a third to what Sugar and The_1iviper said, that's a nice blaster!
As for the Redi-catch (by boonie packer, who makes the redi-mag), it's much better than a BAD lever (or anthing else on the aftermarket) for locking the bolt back. It allows you to use the magazine release button to engage the bolt catch, and doesn't have a release function.

As for the Redi-catch (by boonie packer, who makes the redi-mag), it's much better than a BAD lever (or anthing else on the aftermarket) for locking the bolt back. It allows you to use the magazine release button to engage the bolt catch, and doesn't have a release function.

What are the details on that upper with the URX 4? Is that the CQBL? How does it hold up to the application of that upper?
the rifle on top with the urx4 is a 300blk , the bottom is a mod 2 cqb with a 3.1 rail
the 300 blk has a noveske mur upper with a rtb 6" barrel and an aac sdn-6 suppressor. there's no real issue's with heat as long as your not dumping mag after mag , even with supers. the rails on my 5.56 guns seem to get hotter than that rail. it is one smooth shooting gun.

that's it , they make a ready release also that's like a bad lever but the kac lower already has a right side bolt release. i'm not a fan of anything in the trigger area either besides the trigger.
there's no issues with it working in your qd cup lower and i don't see why it wouldn't work with the maritime bolt catch. it's pretty awesome , i think you'll like it

Same deal here - weight can be onerous with a full sized can, laser module, and flashlight, but what wouldn't be. In anything other than a 'kitchen sink' configuration, mine is amazing. Still wish I went for a little bit less barrel profile since mine, since the Leupy Mk6 is more of an 'excellent intermediate range' optic, and I find myself not running it as a dedicated suppressed setup quite how I'd imagined I would.

I got to check out a Steiner PX-4i and that glass is everything people say it is. I also really liked the reticle. The red dot reticle is just hard to beat for that set. #blackcherrypropel and #coldbananas saved the day though. Lol

It's not the length you're looking for, but I'll tell you that I'm finally going to move away from quad rails. Well...at least I'm going to TRY. I went out yesterday with my 10.3 that's wrapped in a 9" LaRue MLok rail and ran it all day and usually when I do that I'll have issues with my shoulder. (Thanks Uncle Sam for those 4 surgeries.) But yesterday and this morning, no issues whatsoever. What I like about them is that they are plenty sturdy if you want to run a PEQ and WML, but have a really nice size circumference and best of all they use the LaRue mounting system, which I personally think is the best. In terms of perfect alignment with your upper and the ease of installing it, I love em.
Oh and the 3rd thing I like which is really the first thing is that the cost is $10/inch. So that 9" rail for my 10.3 SBR cost me $90. Yeah. I didn't forget a leading 1. My 13.2 was only $132 bucks. I just laughed when I wrote that because it still makes me happier than a possum eatin' molasses. Just some food for thought. My 12.5 DD is sporting an 11" LaRue quad rail and I swear I could beat a bear to death with it, but running those lighter rails this weekend really did convince me that going lighter is not compromising when I do get to nods and the need for a PEQ/dbal. So for my 16" AR-15's or shorter, it will be my rail of choice.
Oh, the optic on my 14.5 is at the factory, I had an issue with the elevation turret and they are fixing it.

ETA: Normally I have a rear BUIS, but I had been running an RMR in an Iron dot mount that has a built in rear buis, which I swapped out for my MoY Red dot that morning and didn't bother to put a rear sight. I'll probably get to it though. :)

The Ergo’s work although yesterday the majority of my shooting was with my 10.3 and it has the type 02 covers. I have used the Ergos before though and I didn’t notice the rail overheating. Even though I wore gloves, the Mechanix Specialty Vent gloves aren’t super thick but they are amazing for the summer. But my point it, they are not thick palmed gloves which tells me that my rail is venting heat properly and my rail covers are working. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The two main reasons the majority of my rifles have had LaRue rails are 1) They are solid as a tank, so no issues mounting whatever you need on the front of the weapon and 2) It’s one of the easiest aligning rails I’ve ever mounted and personally I find it to be very easy to install the rail. As long as you pay attention to what you’re doing (and beginners follow the instructions) it’s easy peasy. So none of that changed with the MLOK version, except one thing and that’s the price. It’s still an extremely solid and well built rail, and I wouldn’t hesitate mounting a DBAL, light, bipod or whatever you need on one with zero concerns about flex. After sending a lot of rounds down range and running and gunning over the past couple of months, and really running it hard on Labor Day (and in some legit heat) I came to really appreciate the form factor and weight savings of the MLok over the quad. That 10.3, even with my SDN-6 handled like a dream, zero issues with my jacked up shoulders. That was the HUGE sign for me. When I grabbed my 12.5 with the LaRue quad rail and ran a few drills with it, I told it sorry bud, but you’re gonna get replaced.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to your buddy for his duty rifle and as you mentioned the price point? Brother, it’s a no-brainer in my book. A word of advice if he does get one. Tell him not to sweat the strap wrench, but to hand tighten the outer rail nut down nice and tight and Loctite (blue) the last two screws that he’ll install. That rail will NOT budge one iota.

Colt 6920 M4 Carbine that I re-barreled with a Colt SOCOM 14.5" barrel with the pinned and welded Colt extended A2 flash hider and H2 buffer. I built this as a SOPMOD Block 1 clone as closely as I could. I got lucky and found almost all the parts and accessories new in the box/bag and just a couple slightly used (KAC forward grip and one of the rail covers). Used an Aimpoint PRO for the red dot but used the correct QRP mount and spacer and the early style adjustment and battery covers with the rubber retainer. Great shooting rifle.

Swapped SureFire M600DF with DS00 tailcap to a Modlight PLH-18350 with a UE tailcap. Also modified the SR07 dual switch to fit in a Cloud Defensive LCS for a Streamlight. Lighter, with same lumens output and twice the candela (throw).
Swapped the Aimpoint CompM4 on LaRue LT659 to a T-2 on a Geissele Super Precision lower 1/3 co-witness Mount. Also added a ARD killflash front flipcap, Knight’s spare battery cap, and Forward Control Designs ATA turrets.
Swapped the Viking Tactics upgraded padded sling with BCM QDs to an original VTAC with Midwest Industries QDs (the slim & lightweight, non “Heavy Duty” ones). Once I’m happy with the set length, I’ll remove all the buckles, and have the QDs sowed on and the excess trimmed off.
Added a Boonie Packer Redi-catch for easier bolt lock backs.
Added RailScale dragon G10 scales. Expensive, but this rail gets hot quick.
Will probably trade out the mil-spec bolt for a LMT enhanced once they come back in stock.
Gonna hold off on the LawTactical folding adapter for now, as I found a covert bag that will hold it with the stock collapsed.
Considering changing out the furniture to Magpul SL-S stock and Maid grip, and trading the SD-E trigger for an SSA-E. Also once funds allow, considering adding an Aimpoint 3XMag-1.
Still waiting for KAC E3 Mod2 CQB Mlok uppers to become available again.
Will add either a SureFire or KAC can when funds allow.

Thanks! I’m loving it too, just put it together a week ago. Its made by Gladiator, and is adjustable in height, has leveling feet, 3k lb working capacity, and weighs 160lb. The top is over 1.5” thick hardwood butcher block. It’s in our spare bedroom that we use as an office, so it’s in the A/C with a ceiling fan too! Just added 8’ of commercial electric LED lighting (14k lumens) hunt directly overhead, and ordered a nice swivel stool, and a backsplash with built-in power strip from Gladiator. I used to build my own benches, but this one is so much nicer. Also the Yost knock-out version of a versa-vise is a lot nicer than your average mechanics vice. It’s got law jaw pads, that I epoxied leather to.

This was my first AR build. I wish I got a lightweight barrel instead of the government profile, but you live and you learn. Should still be a rifle I can depend my life on. Thinking of getting a sling next, although I am strictly a range shooter at the moment.

Yeah they are. I hadn't seen one before looking it up after seeing this post. It certainly looks like an innovative firearm, which Colt has been accused of not doing. It makes me wonder if these will be the ultimate replacement for the M4? (Coming from a guy that knows nothing about military requesting, testing, or procurement.)

The SCW stock has not been produced for a few years now. I will be writing a short historical article on them soon.
Arms Unlimited was the last place I saw them available, and like you said that's been a few years now. They might still have the special carrier for the stock system though.

They are excellent lowers, but I think the newer LMT MARS lowers are better lowers, and a good bit cheaper.
I'm looking forward to getting a MARS lower whenever I build another.

They did, and I declined the nomination. I sent them an email explaining that while I appreciated the thought, I didn't need recognition as pretty much every one in the industry already knew me and my work. I felt it would be better to use the platform for new guys who were trying to get established. With social media platforms being heavily biased against firearm images (except a few who manage to get around it), some of these newer guys don't get the chance for recognition that they deserve.
I went a step farther and let the Gundies crew know that I would help them out however possible, and would even donate a large metal print as a prize to help out. It would appear that I made someone unhappy as they couldn't be bothered to even reply back. I've been told that the "Gundies" is a PR event for a marketing group, but I don't know if that is a legit comment or not. It kinda appears that way, and if it is, its fine with me. Its outside the box thinking, and may be a good way to recruit talent.
Hopefully it goes well, but if they do the multiple votes, buying votes, or anything else that way, I would lose faith in it and suspect it of being more like a "look at us event". One vote per person, keep skanky girls out, and then I would consider it legit. However, its their game, their rules, and I still hope it goes well. Eventually it will tie into a SHOT Show dinner or something I would guess.
