Everything else is pretty visible.

So is the flag...
When the flag is displayed in a manner other than by being flown from a staff, it should be displayed flat, whether indoors or out. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.
Army Regulation 670-1 paragraph 28-18 governs the wear of the United States Flag on Army Uniforms. "The full-color U.S. flag cloth replica is worn so that the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward."
That last excerpt is strictly designated for uniform items. Now in recent history it has become rather popular to run union-forward flags on non-uniform gear. I really don't have too much of a problem with it, and it is somewhat motivating.
That said, my flag is not backwards.
This is real nice, what brake/suppressor is that?
EDIT: ahh damn, realized you said its BC1.5.. I never seen it from that angle.
Thank you, and it is indeed a Battlecomp 1.5

First off the gun looks really nice.
While I think this is a neat setup, I guess I fail to see the value of going with a purposely slick rail setup THEN putting an AFG and rail panels over it, thus negating any of the benefit of even having a slick rail on there to begin with.
Word.
http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp247/wormydog1724/5aa352ec.jpg
"The shape of the URX III is far from ergonomic, nor does it provide good traction, so I'm sure it is rather obvious why I attached panels."
So uh...why'd you use that rail then?
You went with a less ergonomic, slippier, rail to basically shave a tiny bit of weight to basically come close to breaking even?
Sorry man, I fail to see MUCH of a benefit. Again, gun looks nice overall.
Since this is a photo thread:

You went with a less ergonomic, slippier, rail to basically shave a tiny bit of weight to basically come close to breaking even?
I'm not trying to start an argument at all, but I could see why someone would do it. Hell, I did the same with my URX3 rail:
http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt275/Glin1216/Shoot/urx3.jpg
I bolted on rail-panels to increase the thickness of my rail (more ergonomic and comfortable). I would have used an RVG as a hand-stop anyway because it aids in swinging my carbine around. I think you will find that the weight of polymer + a few machine screws is rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. An added benefit of the rail panels (that I did not originally consider) is another barrier between a hot-barrel and your hands.
I switched from a Daniel Defense 12" Lite (one of the lightest full rail-systems) to the URX3 and even after bolting on my RVG and three rail panels; it is still noticeably lighter than before with the DD 12" Lite.
Just an observation, but I noticed in your picture above that you have LaRue "bolt-on" rail panels on your PredatAR above. I would think that you put these on for the same reason that I have: to increase traction and thickness for a more natural/secure hold. I also noticed that you have these "bolt-on" sections even on points where your hand does not contact the rail. I understand when people put rail-ladders/index-clips on sharp-edges, but why bother with a "slick" rail (e.g. URX3, Troy V-TAC, PredatAR)?

Actually, I didn't have much time between when I got my gun and when that class occured. Once I had time to finally put the gun through it's paces I pulled the covers off the panels rearward of the handstop.
I only have grip panels in the front area now to protect the handguard's hard points (attachment holes) for when I'm working the gun off a support object like a berm, obstacle, etc.
So let me get this straight. You are doing the exact same thing I am doing with different equipment, however you still don't understand why I run my gun the way I do? I am not tracking...
I am right there with you, rail protection is another great reason to run panels or in your case segments. That said, your gear configuration and recent comments contradict your initial statement.
I am over this debate, as I don't see it to be much of one.
Regards
Andrew

How much did it cost to have them turn it into a print?
I was probably one of their first retail customers for doing a one off for an individual back in '05 or '06. IIRC, it was only $55 and I had to supply an appropriate profile pick of the carbine. The actual print shows the exact serial # on the lower. I doubt that Phil still does them for that price, but who knows.... http://www.dogfightink.com/

When it's a string of "deleted by Photobucket" icons, the annoyance at quoting long strings of images (instead of the ONE image one is wanting to quote in particular...all it takes is a few keystrokes) strikes more than a single individual.
Hint-hint.
And yes, this IS a photo thread, with the ancillary benefit of providing evidence of who one may or may not want to train around, if they're doing it with people downrange from them.
The needless smarm from many is certainly making my teeth itch, so maybe everybody can take some Midol. Meditate. Bare your soul and inner tribulations to clergy/Psychic Friend.
Anything other than posting said smarm, here.
I guess since it's not a "Magpul" class, it doesn't warrant being here? I wasn't the one who reposted.....Funny, when Robb or Welch post multi pics....nothing is said.....
This "is" a pic thread correct?
Yeah.. umm... no.
Its perfectly fine... But the people who quote your post, with ALL of the pictures multiple times are who he was addressing... Nothing butt hurt worthy IMHO...
Side note: why the hell would photobucket delete those pics?

That is the 3rd 14.5" BCM mid with URX III in the last few pages...where are ya'll buying these? I couldn't find these as a complete upper offering by BCM.
I can't speak for the others, but I purchased the upper from BCM, cut down the FSP and slapped the rail on.

Haven't posted a pic in almost a year! Gotta show off my latest project since then.
It's a LMT/Colt hybrid that came together recently. I'd been sitting on the 6920 lower for about a year, and then came into the LMT carbine upper, mated to a POF lower. I didn't care at all for that setup, and really just wanted the upper (although it had a nice Leupold scope, that's going on my SPR when it's completed - soon, I hope!). ALMOST got rid of the Surefire as well, as it's terribly bulky. I finally figured out a way to run it, to keep it OUT of my way, as I'm right-handed.
DD 12.0 Omega-X FSP rails, MOE stock & grip, AVG, Troy rear sight, TacticalLink Z360 sling mount and single-point sling, Aimpoint Comp M2 in an ADM AD-68C absolute co-witness mount top off the essentials!

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm142/EVO03LMM/Misc/IMG_0750.jpg
Good question I'm sure. To be honest, I don't know the answer, except to say that I mounted the optic on a 1" riser to keep from looking through the rear sight, straight into the front sight while using the optic.
The iron sights are fixed, wasn't sure how to approach this so I used the riser. Works for me, but is there a better way?
The way it is usually setup is you look through your rear sight into your optic. Now i dont mean youre focusing on the sight and your optic, they just line up that way. It is either cowitnessed absolutley (iron sight in center of sight) or the iron is in the lower 1/3 of the sight.
With a 30mm optic like an aimpoint this is achieved by a mount that places the sight in the correct alignment with the irons. With an eotech it uses a riser type mount like yours. I know it may sound confusing now but spend some time reading around and youll get it.
This is my rifle which has an aimpoint mounted in a larue lower 1/3 mount.

Do you or does anyone else know if you have enough clearance to run a Gear Sector Scout Mount with a Troy Front Sight on your Rifle? Nice rifle too by the way.
Here's a couple of pics for you.
It's a little tight getting the button to depress to fold down the sight but no real issue at all.

I've only been able to shoot to 500 in about 25mph wind. It was a pain in the ass. I'd really like to get out on a calm day and see what I can do.
This is the rifle I used, not exactly meant to shoot that far. Its my coyote rifle and mostly sees action 10-100 yards, and does that damn good.

magpul asap with the ms2 sling.
eotech exps 2-0 - I love this thing, built in riser for lower 1/3 co witness, buttons on the side for easier adjustment, 65 moa with a 1 moa center
troy ambi safety
magpul rsa - on the top of the knights RAS. I like this location for my two point sling option. it works better for me than down on the end of the rifle (I have huge shoulders so the sling is more comfortable in the closer location)
Cleaned up the rail with the appropriate sized knight's rail covers.

Much as I try to like the 6920, I am never quite happy with it, so I am tinkering with my sporter. I just replaced the A2 upper with an A1 but kept the A2 handguards. Will get a bcm charging handle. Kept the A2 lower but replaced the stock with the A1 because the pattern on the A2 stock's pattern is too agressive. Also the A2 pistol grip bothers me so I kept the A1s pistol grip. I only wish they made a lw barrel in 1/7. Please forgive the cell phone photo. I would like to fet the C7 upper receiver for it wth the A1 sights, byt the round forward assist and the brass deflector.

You won't find a DSLR for $300 unless you buy new. I'm still using a Canon Rebel XS (cheapest one in their line, may be discontinued by now) and either the kit 18-55mm lens or a 50mm f/1.8. I want a new camera but its not in the budget.

What is the purpose of the dimpled barrel?
It's both functional and cosmetic. The dimples lighten the barrel and help it dissipate heat faster.

It is a Lancer lower with the mid size magwell. That's a Surefire 212 Brake.
Nice boomstick Robb, you the mod that Belmont let the SB go to....looks great!
Yep I bought it from Belmont31.

Duff, why do you have a pattern generator over your illuminator on your PEQ-2A, instead of the diffuser? Did the diffuser get lost or fall off? Or is it intentional? Just wondering. Does it have any pattern generating effects when the illuminator is activated?
@Titleist.... Now did you REALLY *shrug* when you read that previous comment? Or are you lying, just like people who type "LOL" when in fact they did NOT laugh out loud? I want answers dammit!
:p
It was a mild real world shrug.
Specifically in regards to mounting it forward or rearward...
Forward
Pros:
No splash from DBAL illuminator or DBAL aiming laser
Cons:
Interferes with my normal firing-grip
Light/Laser activation is less than ideal
Rearward
Pros:
No compromise made to my Light/Laser activation
No compromise made to my grip
Cons:
Significant splash off illuminator with normal firing-grip
There is a good thread on this in the Light/Lasers section

Trying out the Troy Battle Axe. I was after shorter LOP for shooting with armor
Sidenote:
This weapon has a KM2 Vampire head on the Scout. I use the DBAL for IR AIM and the SureFire for IR ILLUM. For my application (shooting out to a maximum of 150 yds), the KM2 is sufficient.
The rifle I posted earlier has a Scout with the KX2C. I use the DBAL for both IR AIM and IR ILLUM; so I've got it mounted far-forward to prevent splash. This is my dilemma

Maybe it's just me, but I've been pretty nonplussed by how dissapointing the KM2 heads have been. It's such a diffused light that unless it's a really moon-less night it just feels like the ambient brightness just kicks up a TINY bit. Which is a bit disappointing to say the least given the weight and size of the head.
The illuminator on the PEQ-15 has been my go-to IR light source. I'm surprised by how the DBALs can't really get that wide in their throw.
Regardless, good looking setups on both, specifically the first one.

New piece of kit.... it kicks serious ass!:D
AN/PVS-27 MUNS (Magnum Universal Night Sight) bought a few weeks ago from Victor over at TNVC. I learned last range trip that the PEQ-2A isn't really necessary and I'll likely just use TNVC's "Da Torch" illuminator, which is almost as good as a PEQ's illum (out to a certain distance) and smaller and lighter.

Here's my Mk12 Mod1 SPR as it is right now with the new PVS-27 mounted in front of my NightForce 2.5-10X24 optic. The 27 is overkill for this optic! But I don't even have powerful enough glass to reach out to the PVS-27's max potential (manual says 20X, but I've been told the image starts degrading past 15X, especially without a good illuminator).
My SPR kinda looks all mismatched and odd right now. That's because I'm still trying to figure out the exact setup I'm going to stick with, i.e. stock, rail cover placement, PEQ and/or illuminator placement, etc.., and I think I'm gonna get some scope rings and ditch the heavy Larue SPR 1.5 mount. Can anyone tell me which scope rings I should go with? Need some that are preferably some of the lightest, yet still very strong and "bomb-proof" like the Larue mount. Ideas?
Anyways, once I get everything all setup the way I want, then I'll finally paint this gal and she'll finally look proper:)

ETA: Oh yeah, here's the link to the YT video you mentioned in case anyone else is interested:
http://youtu.be/5qHtaQagH40
Lol! That did sound a bit ridiculous, eh?:p I'm mainly talking about for when I'm shooting during the day minus NV kit, suppressor, etc.. Also I used to move this NF scope around between guns back when I originally got it 2 years ago, but now I intend for it to be dedicated soley to this SPR so there's no longer a need for the excess bulk of the LaRue QD mount since it's gonna stay put here now.
But yeah, when shooting at night this is VERY strictly a bench gun (or any kind of rest that's around, gotta get innovative sometimes when shooting hogs!:D). Haven't weighed it yet, but she's definitely a heavy bitch!! And an absolute blast to shoot as well, as you saw in the vids:)
I went back and forth between the PVS-22 and the 27 during the months I was selling shit and saving for it, over and over. Victor finally convinced me to get the 27 since no matter what I would always be shooting from rests anyways due to the heavy weight with either unit. The 27's objective lens is twice the size of the 22's, so allows it to gather twice the amount of light, which translates into a brighter view downrange and is able to be used at TWICE the distance as well, which is friggin' awesome! It's also surprisingly not at all that much more $$ than the PVS-22.
I'm planning on getting an 18" LaRue OBR and putting some nice glass on it, much bigger in size than this small NightForce NXS model, so it won't look AS huge when mounted on that setup. Just have zero clue how long it'll be before I can get all that stuff. Probably a while. I'm broke now!!!:p
That's what happens when you get the NV bug, brother... it's even more ferocious than the black rifle disease! So be careful!

This upper came today… LMT MK18
The Triple Tap is my last one and is being sold. I'll go to a flash hider or a Blackout 51t for my Mini4 that i'm waiting on, then I'm not sure about the light. I'll probably be going to a regular pressure switch between rails and also switch the rear sight to KAC.

Here's the LWRC… It's 7.62 so I haven't posted in this thread. It's an ok gun, but not exactly what I wanted.

I really do not post much even though I read a lot of great threads here. This time, I just could not contain myself and needed to share.
I went shopping and knew exactly what I wanted in my new rifle, I just didn't know which rifle would deliver the package I was looking for. The Noveske N4 delivered the goods and performed exactly how I wanted it to.
I have been regularly shooting my DDXV for the past year and really getting to know how I use and operate an M4 style rifle. While the Daniel Defense is a great rifle, I started to find a few things that I personally would do differently in my next purchase to really feel unified with the rifle. I am really big on feel. I like things to be instinctive during use and just have a comfort quality that allows me to simply use the rifle and not think about anything but my intended target and the surroundings.
Things that were important for this purchase:
14.5 inch barrel: Fixed flash hider was not an issue for me, I prefer the balance and feel, the swing weight is more comfortable and natural, and the sight picture is actually more instinctive for me to operate.
No fixed front sight/rail approx. 9 inches and free floating: I really like the feel of a 14.5 inch barrel with a carbine length gas system, but my support hand always wants to go right where the front sight post is (which has given me a few burns). I needed to get my hand out a little further but didn't want anything longer than 9ish inches to keep the balance the way I wanted. I keep the sights flipped up all the time anyways, so I can drive my hand all the way out now.
General specs assoc. with quality M4's: We've all seen "the chart" and know what I'm talking about. These features are important to me because I want craftmanship, reliability and quality control in my rifle. I don't shoot full-auto, I am not being deployed, but I do shoot a lot, train as much as I can, and simply rely on my firearms to never let me down as long as I do my part.
Aimpoint Red-Dot on quality mount: I have been using and EOTech on the Daniel Defense. It has been a great optic and always functioned well. For me, the outer circle is not sharp and the 1 MOA dot is fuzzy. It makes shooting just a little less enjoyable. I have used a few friends Aimpoint Micro T1/H1, M4s and ML3 2 MOA. The Micro T1 was it for me. Faster, completely natural, very light and the 4 MOA dot is incredible for me. It is clear and round. At close range I was fast and accurate. At long range, I use the top edge of the dot as my aiming point, which is quite a bit more accurate for me. I can't do this with the 2 MOA dot (personal thing I'm sure, but it works for me). I can get the target in focus and the dot to look clear at 100 yards and I love it.
So, I'll end this overly long post with some photos of my new beauty and my 100 yard target shot with the Aimpoint T1, unmagnified; I am extremely happy with the performance of this set up. I have found an amazing solution to all the requirements I had for my rifle.

I have to imagine the mid-length is an amazing shooter. I love the feel and smooth operation of the 14.5" carbine and if the mid-length is even smoother (as I have heard) you will have a heck of a rifle.

Hope you get some great use out of it! Considering the almost non-existent recoil of the .22 rounds you were shooting, in conjunction with running your Geissele SD3G trigger, it must've almost sounded like you were shooting full auto at the range today!:p
Great looking blaster btw!;)

The Surefire MB556K-SB ("Short Barrel") muzzle brake/silencer attachment pictured above on the left allows mounting the suppressor on SBRs where the rail comes very close to the muzzle, so that it doesn't rub against the rail and gives enough space between the rail and suppressor locking ring to make attaching and detaching the can easier to do.
This is how it looked with the standard MB556K muzzle brake attachment before I installed the purpose-made MB556K-SB (don't have a pic of that one yet):

Who did the work?
Who did the dipping? Did you over-coat the hydro graphics for added durability?
I did the build, Brothers Hydrographics did the dip work.

$230.00 for both guns and yes, they clear coat it for durability.
