New MRP Piston 16" Been planning on adding one for a while and with the new line launching wanted to make sure these didn't disappear :D Not that I really think they will but I like to be prepared.
Also picked up a couple SF 60's which will be a cool novelty.

you mind getting some close-ups/elaborating on your AFG chop?
I started with the AFG but it wasn't really comfortable for me so I bought the RVG. A pure vertical grip still didn't work for me so I chopped up the AVG to give me kind of a hybrid grip which is perfect for my hold.
Here's a closeup of it.

So the only thing about it that is a "copy" is the fact that it is a 5.56 AR pattern rifle with an 18" barrel, Ops-Inc mount, and KAC rail? Perhaps it was inspired by the Mk12 Mod 1 but fairly far from being a copy . . .

...and the PRI M84 "gas buster" charging handle, the Colt auto bolt carrier group, the Colt upper receiver w/ extended feed ramps, Colt parts kit, set-screw installed Mk12 gas block on a rifle-length gas system, the Ops Inc 12th Model suppressor hanging off the collar, the Knights 600m BUIS...and thus makes up the Mk12 Mod1 Special Purpose Receiver.
"Inspired" would have been the more correct term but everything on the upper receiver group except the barrel is parts correct unless I boogered something. Obviously over the life of the program, the R in SPR became rifle and seen with lowers wearing A2's to Cranes, standard grips to SPR grips.
I will admit I boogered the optics and used silly LaRue mounts instead of ARMS.

DD MK18 - waiting on the ATF
(Disclaimer for those who have nothing better to do than play internet police: I realize that it currently lacks the KAC sights, EoTech, Sopmod stock, Insight M6 light with tape switch, and whatever other "official" crap you believe belongs on a MK18, which is subjective anyway, because accessory gear is all user preference at the special Ops level anyway. However, it is, in fact, called a MK18 by Daniel Defense, so that's what we'll call it here.)

Finally got to shoot the 6920. Went to the nearest indoor range (50 miles) and squeezed off 90 rounds of federal 55. 25 yrds. Iron Sites tipped with orange paint. Shot from the bench
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/Nitro-tastic/Guns/12-02-01%20Range/Zero25yrdsfor300M.jpg
Also had a lil fun with a printed out target. Again 25yds, iron, Was moving the POI vertically. Kept the drift to 2".
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/Nitro-tastic/Guns/12-02-01%20Range/Zombie.jpg
Range lighting was very poor. Been trying to research what optics I will be going for. Now I know, None. This brought me back to the days in the military.
My wife went with me (gun nut like me). She shoots her 185-series Mini-14, irons only. We were like "nice" til we saw the Zombies face then went "WOW" 2 in mouth and 1 in each eye.

Just wanted to toss up a couple quick pics with this 'thank you' posting.
I wanted to thank BCM for being helpful and prompt in delivering my new BFH upper.
It's mounted on a mil-spec converted RRA lower w/ 2 stage trigger, Spikes Tactical T2 buffer, ACS mil-spec stock, enhanced trigger guard, and B.A.D. lever.
The upper is the 16" BFH with the Vtac 13" slotted & grooved tube style handguard with a Tango Down bipod, I like it much better than quad rails or the Magpul offerings.
The fit is awesome, very snug with no noticeable play between the upper and lower, it actually fits together better than the original RRA upper.
Since this arrived more goodies are 'in the mail', so I'll post up some pics of the finished product sometime soon.

Bad-ASS 45 degree selectors. The one on my 14.5" is the new CASS-3p. I've been using it for a little over a week and it's very nice. I've been using the others for a while, but the CASS-3p feels even more robust. Great products.
These LaRue index clips are great too. I stippled them and they feel very nice. I'm running my 10.5" with a fixed front for the next couple of months and without the vert grip or tape switch for the light. I want to put the switch, KAC front sight and vert grip back on already, but I'm giving it more time.

I have been enjoying M4C for a couple years now, and want to thank you all for providing such a professional level of information. I have very little insight to share, but I believe I am qualified to post pics of my guns.
Here is my Colt MT 6700. My brother bought it about 12 years ago, and I took it off his hands in '06. Neither of us knew anything about AR's, so it was really blind luck that it's not a Bushmaster. So back before the election I was researching my first M-4 and that is when I discovered M4C. The abundance of reliable info made the decision to a Colt LE 6920 fairly simple. And after 2 more years reading, it seemed logical to sell my mini-14 to provide funds for an Aimpoint T-1 and Daniel Defense A1.5 BUIS. Also a DD Omega rail 7.0 and a CAA "broomhandle" VFG hanging on the front. The VFG I had purchased in the days before M4C and am considering replacing. Again, thanks for the help and keep up the good work!

Two very nice weapons. If that foregrip mounts up solid, and its comfy to you, leave it be. Its just a grip.

Have you tried to zero your irons? Your rear is on a riser and your front is not...
Hehe the first thing I noticed too. You should move the riser forward and install the rear backup sight on the receiver itself.

If you look closely Rog, but it may just be me....the rear looks to be an HK micro variant (non flip) so it may be ok :fie:
Says its an ITAC, but you are correct...I see with a little searching that they need a riser to align properly...just looked strange....lol
Right, some ITAC sights I'm seeing have risers to elevate it to AR's height over bore, it's a rather strange setup. Instead of making a sight with the correct height for the AR, they just tacked on a base for it
http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/public/1HPOKsHCqG4aubWciObvDzWx3ZLhs9QlZ1GfVgtXhndIDdcpM6BOKPr8HWuoqUBehUFcGR_RN6qg7BCQWsoW3z2c2FxY-e3e92LFYTac2dwlVJt8gY90IJQFge0_asflQtrpNsTirplc
No disrespect for those that use it, I don't much care for the HK rotary sights that are the basis for the ITAC sights. The notch sight is all but useless because it's too close to the shooter's eyes, the apertures in the sight are fine, they are not as easy to adjust for elevation and windage as modern sights.
On one of my HKs:

How did you mount your Larue hand stop flush to the MOE hand guard?
I cut off the portions that allow it to slide over a rail, then milled in a channel so it would lock in nice to the grooves on the underside of the MOE. Then I just ran a screw through it using a MOE attachment point.

My MP5 had a rotary sight and I never cared for it. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't choose one Either.
My MP5 had a rotary sight and I never cared for it. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't choose one Either.
That's why I like the Centurian Arms C4 HK diopter sights, they are already at the correct height for an AR15 so you don't need a riser.
I wish they made one like the sights on the MP5 I use though. With 4 different sized peep apertures instead of 3 peep apertures and the U-notch.

Name's Mike, thought I would say hello to everyone. I've owned 3 AR-15's over the years, first one was a Bushmaster A3 with an Hbar, second was a DPMS Sportical, and now my newest one I just picked up yesterday....Colt 6720 equipped with all the Magpul goodies, and the 10" quad rail. Not sure who makes the rail on it but its marked Colt Defense.
Now I know what a quality carbine really is. Ended up trading the DPMS and $650 for the Colt, and I couldn't be happier.
I plan on adding either an Aimpoint or an Eotec here in a couple of weeks, but until then I do have the flip up Magpul MBUS, and a cheap lighted reticle scope I had on my DPMS.
Anyway, just figured I would introduce myself, say hello, and soak up some information.
Here are a couple of crappy cell phone pics...

Nope, no ideas, it was installed when I bought it, and probably the only thing that is on it that I don't have an idea about. Its my first rifle with a free float forend.

Sweet. Thanks for the info.
I thought it was a Troy, but I searched and I couldn't find the info anywhere until you posted that thread and it led me to the gunbroker post about it.
This is the description from gunbroker....
This is a special consecutive pair 2 of 1500 made rifles. Starting with a Colt Defense M4 Carbine equipped with the light weight 16 inch pencil barrel 1/7 twist chrome lined with M4 feed ramps. The bolt has the standard M16 carrier and the Magnetic Particle Colt (MPC) inspection stamp (SEE The Pictures). The upper receiver has a low pro gas block, a 10” free floating Troy Quad Rail with MBUS pop up front and Gen 2 rear sights. There are three ladder rail covers and a Magpul Vertical Grip assembly included. The black Rogers Superstock is infinitely adjustable using the lever lock. It has the four position quick lock telescoping buffer tube with the heavy buffer. The push pins are the standard size as used on all Government rifles and the trigger and hammer pins as well. Please note there are no steel blocks or pins in the auto sear area, and the M4 Carbine roll stamp. These rifle are made by Colt Defense, not the Civilian sporter side. These rifles are only 2 of 1500 made in this TALO configuration. Each rifle package includes two 30 round PMags, a front sight adjustingtool and one quick disconnect sling swivel as well. Once again here are two of only 1500 made this way and will be sure to increase in value.
Mine with my FNX-40 thrown in for good measure.

That's a nice upgrade, welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the welcomes so far everyone. Unfortunately I probably wont be able to put any rounds through it until this weekend. Started feeling under the weather yesterday, and now today had to call off work. I hate being sick! Id rather call off to go to the range.
Id like to get some suggestions on an optic. I want something that's going to hold up in extreme conditions. I bought a good rifle for a reason and I don't want to skimp out on an optic.
What kind of Optic are you looking for? For CQB the two obvious choices are Aimpoint and Eotech...as for a scope there are too many choices to list without you listing a preference.
Guys, excuse the ignorance, but I've noticed that all the latest Colt rifles come with that Magpul-esque looking stock.
What's up with that, and what happened to the regular one?

It's called the Rogers super stock designed by Bill Rogers himself. You can usually opt for the standard stock as well if you don't like the SS.
What kind of Optic are you looking for? For CQB the two obvious choices are Aimpoint and Eotech...as for a scope there are too many choices to list without you listing a preference.
Mainly for CQB. Something to keep on the rifle all the time besides at the range when I do some scope shooting. Been looking into both Eotech and Aimpoint, and have heard probably more crappy things about Eotech, Aimpoint not so much, so I think I may go that route.
Any suggestions either way would definitely help in my decision.

Ah, OK. Thank you.
Aimpoint PRO if you are on a budget. They run about 400 and include the mount. If you want to spend a little more go with a T1 or H1 Aimpoint Micro. They are a good bit smaller and lighter too but cost a bit more.

Either will serve you well for a HD and Range gun. I prefer Aimpoints but I like the 65 moa ring on Eotechs. Both brands are used extensively by Mil/Leo and I would feel confident enough to trust my life to either one because of that.
If you have a chance, find a way try them both out and see what you prefer, everyone's eyes are different so don't just go by word of mouth.

Just caught that-sorry for the erroneous information!
Thanks guys. Just looked into that Aimpoint PRO and it does seem like a really good deal. I do like the way the Eotech is though. I guess you'd call it a "reflex sight" instead of just a red dot scope. My LGS is getting in a shipment of Eo's so I may have to compare them side by side. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
I really like the Colt 6720 with the Troy rail sytem. If I was in the market for another AR this would probably be it. Good on ya!:)

This would be my choice if I was looking to save a few bucks, but still wanted a top notch RD optic.

http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m563/CountBulkula/Guns/IMG_0295-1.jpg
If I ever make anything firearms related... I don't think I'd have my logos emblazoned all over everything. It probably makes really good business sense... But damn, its... wish I had a better word, but "tacky". IMO.
Excluded from this pic. There is Daniel Defense fixed rear and and ADM 68-H mount with their logos, patents, and model numbers.
Not to mention all the other magpul stuff with their logos and what not.
And I just realized.... My entire subject of too many words on my gun is negated by my childish need to color them so they jump out.
But, I digress... Back to the pictures. :)

If you don't like the writing all over, why'd you color fill the lettering? Just curious, not ball busting.
Also, that would be cool if it was a 6921, due to the serial number:cool:

Have you tried to zero your irons? Your rear is on a riser and your front is not...
I have sighted it in. Works quite well. The ITAC Diopter sight comes with a removable base which is the same height as my riser rail, which incidentally is designed for standard co-witness. I like it because I can see through the CQB notch without having to co-witness through a standard rear aperature. Just flip up the MBUS and I can do a standard co-witness through the notch for CQB, plus it has rotary drum settings at 100m, 200m, and 300m for distance shooting. It's funny how many guys commented on their disdain for the H&K style sights. I put it on because I enjoyed shooting the MP5 so much when I was allowed to play with them at my old job. To each their own I guess.

It has the green dot. I absolutely hate the triangle. HATE.
The WOA is extremely accurate. I like the midlength gas just fine and will probably always get that vs rifle gas. Just personal preference. Rifle gas is a little softer but it's all about what you're used to. I do fine with midlength so need to switch. My only complaint is this barrel is heavy. I'd like to have it fluted but it's so accurate now I don't want to risk that. But it balances well because the optic is so heavy. I've tried the UBR stock but it just made the whole rifle too heavy. This is my favorite AR I've ever owned. It has about 4k rounds on it now.

If you know how to use the triangle it's quite functional. I find it fast. I can use the bottom of it at 1x to account for offset up close, and at 4x you can use the bottom of it to account for 4moa of drop which gets me to about 375.
I wish there were stadia, but don't worry it's a great optic. I've even pushed it to one thousand yards.

I think it's a terrible reticle. The triangle is huge, too big. The tip of the triangle isn't pointy or defined for precision work. The post the triangle sits on is huge and makes hold overs difficult. I'm not talking about from a bench on a range where I can really study my shot. I'm talking about in competitions where I'm racing to beat the timer and where every shot counts. No it isn't a two way range but the stress level is higher than plinking from a bench. The stresses aren't near what they would be if somebody was shooting back at me and that's why I would never have the triangle. It's too big and too hard to be precise with it. An 8" target at 300 doesn't seem that hard, but add some stress and a shitty shooting position, then it becomes more difficult. The German #4 crosshair isn't ideal either... But its miles better than the triangle. I strongly encourage you to try both and make a decision on your own. That's what I did. I don't want you to get the German #4 reticle and be pissed at me because you found out you like the triangle better. Some like it. Some love it. Not me. I hate it.
There are guys here with years and years of experience more than me, some with decades more. I just know what I have seen from my experience in 3 gun shooting what works for me and what doesn't.
I don't want to come off as a know-it-all and really hope I don't. If I am, just tell me and I'll STFU. Just hoping I can help and contribute here in some way.
