Thanks. The jacket is just a Condor Phantom. Far from great, but it works good as a day to day jacket for me. Little warmer than a wind breaker, keeps the rain off. Loads of pockets.
The set up was a pain being both the photographer and the subject...lol. Been wanting to try it for a while.

Not Photoshopped Sean. The case is really there. I don't Photoshop my material.

Didn't say it was, just looks that way to me. Seems out of place. Maybe its just me.

That's freaking badass brother....easily one of the best pics I've seen in awhile:)
Many of the very best pics in this thread look "photoshopped"....Memberonly was called out for having one of his masterpieces being photoshopped, and then he whipped out a "setup" pic:cool:

Thanks T.
The case may seem Photoshopped into the scene, because it was the focal point of the photo. I wanted to create the illusion that the case was mid flight heading towards the camera (viewer).
In actuality, the case is suspended mid-way between the ejection port and the camera lens. Good old fashioned ingenuity. No Photoshop here.
I think its the light that throws it off. The red highlight on the gun and not on the case. I realize its due to the angle of the lights versus the gun and case.
Always impressed by your work, and I didn't mean to offend if I did.

No offense taken BCM.....I'm set with mine....the one that was pictured (v7) came in to the shop and I had 3 options available for the customer.....we'll see what he decides this week.....
My DD: v3
I have both options available since I bought the ACOG before I even had the gun and now use the T-1 for stuff I'm doing with local PD's...

BCM,
I help out at a local shop in my spare time doing builds and installations......This was just a general post......
All the DD's I sold for a dealer out in Michigan and all of the "other" ones here in PA. The work of upgrading all the Department weapons locally for several PD's in my area......I can get down..Haaaa!
I always have my gun in the shop when working and people are always asking about it.....I bought it 2 years ago from Joe at Daniel Defense directly and had it shipped to the guy I help out now since he was my local FFL at the time....
Youre about to get ALL kinds of answers man.
Get what YOU will like to shoot, not what we tell you to shoot
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Danger131/ThEcOmebAcKKiD.jpg
I know what "I" like to shoot but most that come in to the shop are looking for guidance......When I sold bike's and someone was going to ride a rail trail once a month....I would not sell them a $3000 MTB but get them what is applicable to the riding that they want to do.
I use the same approach when helping people decide on guns......DD's are new to this area out here due to price but with Joe's help...we are getting them in. Most are in the less than $1k market but some can top that. That's what I do.....advise.....

Here's mine. Added some hardware since.
http://www.mrpuga.com/images/50_cal.jpg
Not mine, works.
Decided to ditch the DD VFG and give the Magpul AFG2 a try.
So far, I am really liking the AFG2 in terms of its ability to help me more comfortably hold/control the weapon the way I want to. I like my thumb on top of the rail and the AFG2 takes some of the awkwardness/pressure off of my wrist when I utilize that grip.
Also, I recently installed the new Magpul STR stock to replace my MOE stock. Advantages over the old MOE: Better cheek weld (by far), storage capacity, reversible QD socket, and friction lock that removes any and all play/wobble with the stock on the RE. Highly recommend it if you are considering a new stock.
Last night I added a pair of XTM panels to the bottom of the rail: one in front of the AFG2 that allows me to get my left/support hand out further on the weapon (also serves sort of an index function to keep me from getting my hand TOO far out) and another between the mag well and the AFG2 to serve as protection for the rail.
I highly recommend the XTM panels for those who haven't tried them. More comfortable/better grip than the ladder covers (IMHO), easy to install, and very solid.

Is that an open-prong flash hider? I don't think I'd be stabbing anything with that bayonet...seems like a good way to bend the FH all to heck.
Nice M9 bayonet, BTW. I love mine (Buck), but since it won't fit on my 16" carbine, I just use it as a BAK (Big-Ass Knife) to open MRE packages out camping... :D

heres my first ever AR-15 .. i live in denmark so getting the license to own it took 1½ year
built from Hera Arms Germany upper and lower, som magpul parts and a custom cnc-made rail handguard it turned out good .. putting on an eotech 553 and a surefire m952

600 euros? That's like 900usd or something right?
nah like 790 or so but yeah its pricey ..
but what are magpul lowers sold for in the us? 2000usd ive seen some sold for ... for just the lower so ..
those kind of parts are pricey here in europe mostly due to the lack of MFG´s in the us willing to ship out of the states due to US export laws and ITAR and local import laws etc so most US brands are not available here and therefore the european MFG´s set their own price

No issues so far. Only 120 rounds through it though. And I shoot brass. I hear it sometimes doesn't like steel cases.
Weighs 5lbs 11oz WITH optic and light.

INFORCE. Small and light, mine is both vis and IR, first push on vis is low second push is bright; and it has that simple flip safety.

I plan on picking up a Micro T-1 and try it out with both the normal mount and the offset mount running in tandem with the ACOG, also plan on getting a new flashlight, a small surefire or fenix in a thorntail or dropwing mount. Firstly though, I need more ammo, shot 50 of my last 60 rounds today to get the irons and optic sighted in and to get a feel for the gun.
She ran flawlessly and has such a nice smooth recoil impulse.
I want to thank everyone on here, I used this site as a huge resource in my research of my components.

This is my wife, a 5'2 asian girls toy, she enjoyed shooting it the whole Saturday afternoon. I built this AR for her, actually I am building my own now, guess this is my warm up :). Total cost about 900bucks. I want to use a BCM/DD pencil barrel and tried not add any weight to the front. My wife really likes it's light weight and balance, she call it "Monica", "a simply beauty" :)
URG is a BCM BFH 16" LW, a used CAVALRY C8 thin handguard (she told me A2 hanguard is a must-have,since she has fairly small hands). She likes shoot through adjustable LMT sight and a ST-T2 buffer kit. A Mega lower and RRA LPK, install some JP springs to reduce trigger weight for her squeeze.
Here are some pictures of the rifle, since it's a "girl's toy", I hope the background is not too "RED" to your guys. :)
Have a nice weekend gentlemen!

I am thinking about picking one of the carbine ones up for a new build. What do you think of it? It is a solid piece from HG to receiver right? How is the weight compared to a standard HG and receiver?

I assume the enlarged ejection port is a factory modification? I also notice that your ejection port cover spring arm is sticking into your ejection port...is this due to it being an LMT receiver?

What piece are you referring to? This is a Noveske flared lower with a LMT MRP Gen. 1. The LMT is a mid-length, 14.5" with a 12/13" rail system. The flared lower is pretty nice, but a little heavy. Also doesn't help that I put a UBR on it. Comes in around 10.2 lbs with the LMT on top.

I'm guessing it is. I picked this up from another board member. After resetting the barrel, polishing the feedramps and ditching the BAD lever, it is working perfectly, though I really want to put more than 200+ rounds in it at the moment.
The ejection port cover spring is not sticking in the ejection port. optical illusion on the camera and angle.

The Troy TRX. It took a really long time for me to get used to it. I didnt like it at all.
I kept using it so I would know for sure.
Now I love it.
Hands down the LIGHTEST rail you will ever hold
I am not a fan of the clamp mounting system, It moves and throws my zero off....when youre tightening it.
After its tightened down its solid.
I have it on and off all the time, Im just waiting for the metal to fail.

Did you try using a carry handle to 'bridge the gap' and keep everything straight when you tighten it down? I bought a carry handle just for that reason. Keeps everything straight and level. :big_boss:

552 EOtech (Single dot, I dont care for the EOtech reticle)
Troy TRX Alpha rail (Mounts to standard barrel nut)
Streamlight TRL-3
Blackhawk sling
I chopped and refinished the front sight base, because I wanted the gas block pinned into the barrel. I also loctited the rail and castlenut. I dont want this stuff to rattle apart on me when I need it. I had an extra TRL-3 laying around that I didnt like it on my pistol, so I threw it on the rifle. I tried mounting it to the left-hand side but didnt like that at all, so I tried it underneath. With the c-clamp or competition style hold my index finger, when extended, will lay right between the switchs on the light, which works fairly well. I also like that I wont have light problems when pieing corners. I'll run it like that for awhile, but I think I will eventually want something sturdier and with a lower profile.

Thank you sir. My paint method is keeping the can close and basically doing angled "Stripes". Th eprep I do is getting the oil off of the pins and pretty much wiping it down with a rag.
The 11.5" round count? I would have to count the stripper clips and box tabs. If I had to guess.... I would say around 2,500 to 3,200?

Got my magnifier finally. It's a Vortex VMX3. I had no problem with the Eotech non-magnified at 100 yards, this should easily tackle some steel at the 300 yard, and maybe even the 600 yard, range.
I also switched from a rail insert and VFG to the IWC handstop and couldn't be happier. All I have left to add is a QD sling mount from IWC and the LaRue padded sling with built-in QD swivels..:D

It was a limited run factory anodized receiver set from spikes.
First AR. DPMS lower with Del-Ton upper. Built the lower myself. Rear buis should arrive in a few days, can't wait to get to the range! On a tight budget so it will take a while to save up for a quality optic.

I got a question guys? Would it hurt my G2Led to run it in this same manner? Would heat and blast be an issue with that model?
Thanks and God bless,
Brandon

Probably not a blast issue. Mine's got at least 1200 rounds through it and I'm sure BCM's has more than that. Just with the G2's plastic body be careful of the heat. Our lights are aluminum.
Oh...and raise your M300 an M500AB :)

This is my second AR. The first was an M&P 15 T. I like this one much better. I wanted a reliable, light weight AR, and this fits the bill perfectly for me. I know the TLR is not the greatest light out there, but it was a gift from my brother, and it will do till I can get my hands on a Surefire X300. BCM makes a great rifle, and Magpul makes it better. Thanks to BCM, G&R Tactical, Lakeside Guns, and GA Firing Line.

This is probably the softest shooting rifle I have, then when you add the full weight of 60 rounds, there is literally no muzzle rise what so ever.

The only place you could have seen this rifle is in Norway, the brake is the SJC Titan.
I had to google ORSA to find out what it was, so now I have some more youtube entertainment to watch too. Thanks ;)
