Very nice. I noticed a couple other people seem to have received theirs today as well
This maybe better suited for the pic thread IMO.
Probably but in this case it's hard to care much. Damn fine weapon that is.
I don't know if its the lighting, but that color scheme looks a lot better than i thought it would. a fine blaster there sir. please let us know how it handles recoil with the bcm comp.
The grey acts differently in different lighting. The pics of the Jack on the HSP Website don't do it justice in terms of color.

Just bought my first AR15 last weekend at the Gun Show. A DPMS Oracle 5.56. Came with the Green dot sight and Laser. Will be upgrading to an Eotech and Flip to Side Magnifier. I will also purchase a Burris scope for hunting. Of course, new furniture is on the list as well.
Awesome.
Thanks, the bottom one was my first AR (or or gun period), the top one was just a spare bolt and lower, but I got a little carried away.

A guy on a local forum was selling a DDM V2 complete upper with a pinned Battlecomp 2.0. Brand new, never fired. He was asking $1.2k and I am "stealing" it up for $1k
I figure for that price I had to scoop it up. It's a savings of $400+ with the brake IF I could even find it in stock.
For those wondering why the brake is pinned, thank the state of CT for that.
The rear sight is included, just not shown.

EDIT: To confirm the BCG is in fact DD, the DD logo should be on the carrier correct?
DD has made unmarked carriers in the past, but an upper that new (their new front sight, the laser engraving on the side, etc) should definitely have a logo on the BCG as well.
Thanks Tom. I figured as much, but just wanted to confirm.

Wow, why in the world do you have that riser under the ACOG? The RMR is usually a chin-weld anyway. How far are you floating your face off the stock to be able to use that RMR?

The front sight was getting in the way when it was mounted to the upper. It's actually pretty comfortable for me, still have my cheek on the stock.
Yeah, using the RMR is a little different story. I actually haven't got it sighted in yet. :( I don't get much time/opportunity to shoot it.

Hey it's your rifle bro, run it how you want to, but most folks wouldn't consider that tiny shadow of the front sight you see at the bottom of your field of view to be interference. If it were, I guess you'd better tell all these guys that they're doing it wrong:

I'd sight that RMR in, and run it a bit using the RMR, before deciding that it works.
Personally I don't think I could declare a setup to work when I hadn't yet tried it live fire.

I have an Aero lower, PSA LPK and A2 stock that it's going on. Getting it tonight. I'm like a little kid on Christmas. :shout:
EDIT: To confirm the BCG is in fact DD, the DD logo should be on the carrier correct?

I'm assuming when you 'tested/sighted in' you were on a bench or prone? That thing has to be front-heavy as hell and you'd realize that if you took it through a course. Or used it in a position where you were supporting it, instead of a bench or or the ground.
Not trying to be a douche, but I'd loose the bipod and grip. A better stock would help too. With a proper cheekweld you'll find that you don't need the riser.

I was on a bench at an indoor 100 yard range.
The bipod is really only used/attached when I'm at the range or to have it sit up like it is in the pic. Other than that it sits in the bag with other stuff. I'll be keeping the grip though. It's a Crimson Trace VFG that has an intergrated light and laser.

Gotcha. You could shoot of a bag or other support surface just as easily. Bipods are a PITA in most situations, IMO.
:eek::eek: $480?!?! A Surefire + mount + vert grip combo is $2-300.

Yeah, the lighting in those pics came out really nice, thanks! That's actually all Magpul factory FDE stuff (except the Aimpoint cover, which is Aimpoint FDE;)) That rifle is my one act of treason in this market. I was given the upper by my buddy as a thanks for building 4 other rifles (same upper) for he and his dad. I snagged the PSA lower like a week after Sandy Hook, and then bought all the Magpul gear and slapped it together. Let's just say that my M4-2000 and Element II that are waiting for stamps were basically free!:D

If your screen name indicates that you are LE, you need to un**** that optic setup post haste.
Its arguably unsafe for patrol use (not sure of its role since you didn't mention it) and would be a hoot to watch folks try and shoot from concealment/cover (a patrol car etc) with it as they destroyed the cruisers... They might even get the tires with the RMR, instead of the hood, which is pretty common even with a typic RDS :D
The CT grip is very tactical though.
If you're not LE, have a blast with it. You might be able to fire from the rib/hip (like the Chicom soldiers shooting their AK' in Full Metal Jacket) and still pick up the RMR which is awesome.

I've thought about both but I'm a little leery to do either since I haven't done much/any permanent modification to it. I'm not real confident in my ability at this point.

My entry to the modern AR world. Normally I am a retro type of guy, but even a collector needs a "up to date" carbine.
80% lower with my info engraved, DD upper except the barrel which is a Palmetto arms HF lighter weight 16 inch mid gas. Gear Selector Surefire mount with my vintage 6P and ACL trigger group.
Fixed FSB and DD BUIS and Aimpoint mount/T1.
Haven't found a ammo it does not like, but shoots best with the offical M4carbine.net load of 24.5 grains of TAC with a 55 grain FMJBT
I did stay true to my retro roots with the A1 stock. :D
and in case anyone askes - that is a (bought used)trimmed DD lite rail 12.0 FSPM that I trimmed due to some pretty nasty damage on the front end. (looked like someone had drug it behind their truck)

Thanks, and your correct...it's a DD CHF LW 14.5" Mid.
RE: Lens cap...to be honest I found it in a box I have full of old lens caps. Lots are from .22/cheap optics, and I'm guessing that one was from one of those. The butler creek with the red tab release is the one I'd buy if I wasn't a cheap ass.

Thanks. I shot a bunch of differant configurations (friends guns) and really wanted to build something that would be 100% of what I wanted in a SHTF carbine. No crap and nothing put on there for just for show.
So far it has about 1500 trouble free rounds and beginning to get a well loved patina.

What sling?
What sling?
None currently. Frankly I know very little about the various offerings out there - this is an area that I need to gain some more knowledge. :)
If things happen, I do have an early M16 seatbelt sling and a rail/sling adapter that I hope will suffice.

If you are counting on this rifle for "SHTF" and want it to have 100% of what you want, I'd get working on that sling.
I have padded VCAS slings on mine and have been very happy with them. The VTAC and MS 2/3 slings are popular too. And plenty of other choices.
Mine with VCAS:

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g105/austin3161324/Firearms/IMG_4811_zps16c5eae9.jpg
Agree on the sling, but skip the VTAC. I had two of them. The buckles are a failure point, the excess sling hanging out after the adjustment is an annoyance at best and a liability at worst, the fabric is poor quality and prone to fraying.
Also saw a couple of rifles go muzzle into the dirt from the Magpul MS2 buckle failing in a Vickers class.
Blue Force Gear/Vickers VCAS is the way to go. I like the padded versions:

Question, what light and mount are you running on that MOE handguard?
This combo:
http://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/smc-1-light-mount-n-slot-w-vtac-l4-bk/
The SMC light mount can be had with three different sizes of ring to fit virtually all of the more common diameters of CR123 or 18650 powered lights. That VTAC/Surefire L4 is basically a Scout M600 without the pressure switch or the integrated mount. It's an E2D body with the Scout head (KX2C) and clicky tailcap. I really like it.

Finally got my hands on a BAD ASS and a B5 Bravo. Also ditched the tape switch in favor of the more simple and lightweight clicky cap. This rifle is such a soft shooter and very lightweight. My new favorite for sure. Still need to get my hands on an IO cover for the Aimpoint and it will be done.

Sign me up. There are several questions I have about WML's and feel the only way I'll find out is with hands on exposure. I said the samething to my wife when she mentioned the possibility of breast implants. Didn't go over so well... :big_boss:

Ehh not quite, but on the right track. I sent them an FB message asking if they are releasing a 200 lumen IR and constant-on WML. I also mentioned that my WML has a small crack in the screw housing from over-tightening. They responded very quickly and gave me a CS rep's name and number and told me to call so they can fix it asap. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but figured I'd mention my limited experience FWIW.

I experimented with different locations a few times and was disappointed by how quickly this happened, but I do have a bad habit of just cranking that stuff down until I can't anymore. With the brighter lumens in the Haley light, how awesome it flows with my MOE handguard, and their apparent eagerness to fix it, my interest has been renewed in their products.
Gotcha and thanks Wake. Good to hear about them. Keep us updated.
Has anyone put one of these on a MOE yet? More specifically on the cantilever rail that comes with the illumination kit on the right side of the HG.
I shoot thumbover (righty/have long fingers) and was wondering how easy it was to reach the switch.
Well thats a bummer. Seems like that part should maybe not be made of plastic... IMHUO.

Yup. I haven't taken any pics of it with the cantilever installed yet, but here is one with just a regular rail section. The light and MOE work awesome together and the cantilever is the perfect piece to connect them.

Yeah he was pretty excited to get his pistol, he kind of forgot his trigger discipline. The hand guard is much nicer than i was expecting. However the lengths are confusing, the listed length is referencing the top rail, however the bottom sections extends quite a bit beyond. They use a unique barrel nut that does not require you to index the gas tube.

Join the club. But I got my revenge. One day the wife was checking out our computers web history when she found a suspected porno site. Hearing her moan in shock and disappointment as she clicked on the Bushmaster link was great. I laughed for days.

Going to a Bushmaster link isn't much that much further down the crap hole than porn in my opinion. ;)

Junkie, how well are you taking Colorado's new draconian gun laws? Are you ready to pull up stakes yet? I feel sorry for you guys out there, send the Democrats back to California and take your state back.

Oklahoma is a fine place to live. Unless you're fat, lazy, or a leech on the system expecting everything for nothing, then keep the hell out.
No I'm not kidding.

I don't think you have it put together correctly. Magpul shows them offset (at least that's how I did mine based on the instructions) with the left side higher. I think the reasoning is so you don't block the ejection port when you switch mags.

I suppose the question is...can he efficiently operate the mag release when the left side (bolt release side) magazine is in the rifle? I haven't used one. Is that the main reason to offset them??

Its frustrating. I expected more of this state. However, anyone here will remember the great "California Migration" of 1989-93.
There were even bumper stickers on the subject.
You know why people dont have sex in California???
Cause theyre all ****IN HERE!!!
