So the civilian side of HK is now owned by a company who has a sketchy past in regards to terrorism. :mad:

I'm sure it will just be a coincidence when when our soldiers end up finding HK pistols all over in the ME. I think I'll pass on any HK products made in the middle east as well (even if HK Germany will still be the largest producer of the new factories). As far as I'm concerned, HK just made their biggest mistake yet.

If I owned any HK products, I'd be looking to sell them.

I have no real need or desire to own anything HK makes for the civ market anyway, so this just gives me one more thing to yank the chains of HK owners I know about. HK's new advertising slogan: "Complete and Total Domination in Alienation!!!":D

Is HK pistols sold in the US gun shops part of their civy market?

Yes. The handguns they make are all pretty much available to civi buyers. The rifles, for the most part, aren't. There have been exceptions like the SL8 and that hideous (at least to me) semi auto sporting rifle, but at SHOT when customers asked when the 416 would be available to the civi market, HK's reps literally laughed. I heard a few people make that comment while spending a lot of time at Magpul's booth which was next to HK's.

I dunno. To me it looks like a fancier Steyr. I never like H&K handguns so I guess this news means nothing to me.
