No firsthand experience but I've read some good reviews of it over on lightfighter.
ETA, I think the newer Phantom with the detachable drag bag is a better design.

I have a Gunslinger. Initially thoughts are that it is a pretty good system. I would change a few things to suit my needs, but they are personal preference issues that help the bag fill the role I want it for. Could someone build a better bag? Sure! ...but, despite the small issues I have with it, the fact remains that they are the ONLY ONE'S building such a beast.
So far, I've taken it on one short hike of about 3 miles with a 16" upper and some misc gear...maybe 35-40lbs. It rode very well. I'd even go so far as to say it was the most comfortable bag I've worn (which covers Med and Lrg ALICE bags, Eagle AIII, Eagle Becker, Eagle RAID, and misc civilian bags).
Hear are some of the first impressions I had on it: http://getoffthex.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/463106881/m/8191095621?r=8191095621#8191095621
Hope that helps...
Dang, that was quick. Thanks for the review, I don't have an account over there. Gonna have to make one. How is it as far as switching out weapons? Can you actually pull a weapon out/put a weapon in the pack without removing the pack, as advertised? Doesn't look like it to me. I carry an M24 and an M4, will both weapons fit it? Sorry, to be a pain, but for the price seems like a hell of a deal.
Thanks again
I bought the pack with the idea of puting in a spare upper, not a full gun. If I need to carry a full AR-type rifle, then I'd break it down with the upper in the scabbard and the lower in the main compartment.
You can certainly put in two rifles. I believe the manufacturer's website shows this. I don't have an M24 to test, but I'd say that your problem is going to be how much crap you may/may not have hanging off your M4. In one of the pics I posted on GOTX.com, I show some guns with the pack. My M4 has a Larue high mount Aimpoint and a Surefire VFG. This makes it about as wide as the pack will allow. I can't put something in there with it unless I break down the M4 accessories.
I have never tried doing the quick flip out while wearing it....but I just tried it, and as long as you can reach it, it comes out just fine.
As I was saying earlier, there are a few things I'd like to change on it.
*I'd like the scabbard to be attached more seamlessly. The way it is now, you can see that there are two separate compartments. It's not a big deal, but one reason I like this is that it doesn't scream "GUN!" like a typical gun case does (even the discreet ones).
*For the same reason, I don't pull out the "tail". What this gives me is a bit higher gun exposure at the opening. (Again, some of the pics on the other web site shows what I'm talking about.) They give you a "lid" to put over the gun, but unfortunately it can't be cinched down very far. I end up with a lot of dead space if I'm just puting uppers in there. Once again, not a big deal. The pack is cheap enough to be able to get someone to custom make a lid if needed.
*The PAL/MOLLE webbing seems a little poorly thought out. You can't add any pouch wider than 4 rows (or is it channels? I can never remember...). I have an Emdom Large Utili-Shingle that is a great pouch, but unfortunately, it's useless on this pack.
*Lastly, the top lid compression strap is just a single strap that runs down the center. It makes getting to any of the pockets there (or any external pouches you might mount there) a little too difficult IMO.
Anywho...despite the few drawbacks, it fits what I wanted: One bag (pack) that I can take to the range (or a class) and carry (for distances if needed) a full load for an AR platform (except for ammo :D ). With the help of a few external pouches (keeps it organized, but I could just toss the stuff inside the main compartment if I wanted), I can carry two uppers, a lower, extra parts (optics, lights, grips), a mid-size tool/cleaning kit, a chest rig, duty belt, knee pads, gloves, water, rain gear, etc. Not bad for a $170 pack.
Sorry so long...I'm off today, and bored. ;)
Thanks a lot, I really really appreciate it. I registered and checked out the thread on the other site, awsome review and good pics. Looks like this will do the job. I'm not planning on putting both weapons in at the same time, I just need to be able to transition. I'm not worried about concealability either, hell right now I carry my M4 and my M24 slung on my back with a pack, plus body armor and kit. Having a nice pack that an extra gun will fit in will make climbing up and down these crazy mountains over here much more comfortable.
Thanks again,
Chili
Glad to have helped. Make sure you do a search for topics on the packs over on lightfighter.net too. I think some active duty guys posted on their impressions of the pack. Like I said, it fits my needs well enough, but I'm definitely not giving it hard use like a lot of other guys.
If you do get one, let us know how it works for you.

Neeglik,

thanks

Sorry I missed the question the first time around. IIRC, I got it from TAD gear. I'm not 100% sure about that though.
Finally got it!! Took a while and came a little late, but well worth it. So far, all I've done is transfer all my stuff, my rifle fits in there very nicely. I'll write up a more detailed review after a few missions. I got the CB one, and it doesn't look OD at all. Not sure if they changed it or what.
u got the gunslinger or phantom ?
post pics !!
Chili,
Mine is OD, but leans toward CB. If yours is CB, then (hopefully) you shouldn't be having the same problem.
Definitely give us some feedback and pics!!

I got the gunslinger, I'll get some pics up asap.

Ok, yeah, I got the CB one, and after looking at yours again, it looks exactly the same to me. I wonder if they accidently sent you the CB one?
Here's a few for now, let me know if anyone wants anything more specific. I thought Neegliks review was pretty in-depth, so I just got pics that show fitting weapons. I'll work on some operational pics soon as well.
ETA: Sorry, I don't have the best camera, and our internet sucks so bad you have to make the pics smaller to upload them.

Ok...Got'em this time.
Be sure to let us know how it works for ya on the job.
I know this is an OLD topic, but I figured it'd be best to bring it back up instead of creating a new one.
I've been thinking of getting a new pack for a while now and I finally decided on a brand but I'm having trouble deciding on which model. I'm looking at the Phantom and the Gunslinger from Eberlestock. Does anyone have any updated info/reviews on either of these two packs? Thanks in advance (and yes, I'm checking out Lightfighter as well).
I use the Gunslinger quite a bit to carry my M4 when I combo coyote/quail hunt. I cover ground with my shotgun in hand in case I jump a covey. When I find a good spot, I use my M4 to make a stand to call in a coyote.
I typically cover 5-6 miles at a time. The Gunslinger is a joy to carry.
I ended up ordering the G4 Operator in Dry Earth from LA Police Gear last friday. I picked it up and another small item for $389.78 shipped since they had a 15% off code.
