Who makes a durable timer that I can use to train with. I want the one that beeps when time runs out like they use in IDPA.

Pact or CED. I've used both, however I prefer the Pact Club Shot.

I use a Competition Electronics Pocket Pro, but I'm sure any quality timer will do. Mine has been dropped, rained on, and it soldiers on.

A nice feature of most any good timer is the "second beep" feature. This can be set for a par time, within which the shooter has to enagage some targets while moving to cover (and get there before the second beep). The shooter can then engage the remaining targets from cover, with the timer still providing an overall elapsed time.

This can help get shooter to move quickly to cover, instead of waddling along in a groucho walk like they definately wouldn't do if they were being shot at.
