View Full Version : Gen 4 Glock 26 & 27
I'm at the IACP this week. According to Glock, the Gen 4 G26 & G27 should be out in about six (6) weeks.
I was also told that the Gen 4 G34 & G35 are out.
None of the above were available to play with.

The 35s are/were available at Ed's Public Safety as of last week. The rest are awaiting a final blessing from ATF. Look for the 26/27 first as it's the internal priority for contractual reasons.
Having talked to Tod at Ed's, the Gen 4 35 sounds to be the shit for a .40.
I can't wait to get my grubby paws on a Gen 4 34.

How are they different from the Gen. 3 models?
I am really interested in the 26 when it becomes available.....

Guess that means I'm waiting till next year for the 20/21. Damn it. I was hoping to use my GSSF price to get my 21 fetish satisfied.

At least these guns have ALWAYS had the double recoil spring system.
I'd rather have a G26 RTF2 instead because I'm having a hard time figuring out what if the backstraps would make much, if any difference, on the baby Glock.

Agreed. Minimal, if any. That'd be one to actually quantify.
Looks like I'd better go hurry and get a spare Gen3 G26.
Aren't they still going to produce Gen3 for the present time.

Why? Glock is going to continue on with the Gen 3 line-up.
The only reason I would "hurry" is if you want an OD model.
I will likely have to have a G26G4 when they come out.

I didn't ask.

Our Gen4 G26's arrived Monday. They definately do feel smaller in the hand with no backstraps in place.

Say it with me: "Crimson Trace backstrap."

Seeing as the gen 3 also has a dual recoil spring setup, do you know if then gen 4 and gen 3 slides are interchangeable?

You know how much I love Glocks right? However, I don't see a CT backstrap for the Gen4s...the Gen4 design is just too cheesy to safely and reliably add a CT backstrap. I wish Glock had put a little more effort (or any effort) into redesigning the Gen4 so that it had a true modular backstraps to make it easier for the CT engineers.
The CT grip of the M&P is the best I've seen and it kicks the snot out of the Glock models (LG-417 & LG-617/619). The 417 is an awesome improvement but there's only so much the CT guys can work with.
The 26 is the Gen 4 model I've been waiting on to use my GSSF discount this year.
I also really wish they would of expand the RTF2 line to other 9mm frames but I think it got to much bad press from people that never even tried carrying/shooting with it. I think the 26 would of been awesome with a RTF2 frame.

May I ask who "our" is? Are you with an agency that contracted for them or are you a dealer?

I agree. I have small hands and the Gen 4 fits my hand extremely well with no backstrap installed. That's the big draw for me. If that were not the case, I'd probably stick with a Gen 3 as the add-on backstraps seem delicate and poorly done. The CT M&P set up is the best I've seen.

I haven't tried I will try give it a go when I'm back in the office Monday.

Sure , we are the South African importers of GLOCK Pistols.
The Gen4's RTF3 texture blows IMO. Only good thing about the Gen4 is the smaller grip size, larger mag release, and duller slide finish. I too wish that GLOCK hadn't killed off the RTF2 texture. I would like to see some Gen4 guns that have been heat stippled.
The top ends do seem to interchange. I didn't get a chance to shoot them and this is obviously not an recommendation to change them around. But they seem to fit no problem.
Gen 4 26's are available in the US, I saw pics, i plan on purchasing one on Monday.
Yep, Ed's has em. Posted on GlockTalk.
