Posted this on other forums but figued it was just as well here too. I ordered myself a set of AmeriGlos "Hackathorn" sights last week, they showed up a few days later and while I put them on, I ran the camera some. http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_big.gif

On a serious note, have you been to the range with them? How do you like them? I have the Heinie Straight 8 Ledges, and love them...

Nope haven't made it up there yet. Looks like fridays going to be the day though. But so far I'm impressed with them.

I put a set on my Gen 4 Glock 19 and they are a pretty nice set of sights
I think my buddy Ken had a good idea.

Order them directly from Ameriglo. Mine arrived the very next day!

The GSSF code knocks a good chunk off the cost too. ;)

Thanks. :)

They don't seem to have the same sense of humor over on arfcom as we do here. They edited it out of my post, lol. :sarcastic:

The last time I was home on leave I had the chance to try out Ken's Gen 4 Glock 19 that sports these sights.

I liked them so much, I asked David Bowie to install them on my Glock 20 when I sent it to him to work his magic.

I have the ProGlow orange front sight (green tritium) and an Operator rear (yellow tritium) on my duty gun (G22). I really like that set up and may do it to my other carry guns.

The ProGlo is the square one right?
I didn't see those for sale anywhere. Hmm
I'm more than happy with the round one.
Might have to move my trip to the range up a day...

I put a set on my 3rd gen Glock 19, took them to the range and put about 300 rds thru them doing various drills. They are great sights for me, quick, easy to see and they hit where I put the big orange circle. They replaced a set of Heinie straight 8s.

Whats the difference between the GL433 and GL434? they look identical except for price.

The GL434 set fits .45/10mm frames and the 31/32 .357 sigs...

No, my front sight looks exactly like the one in the photos. The older version of the ProGlos may have been square. Looking at their web site, the pic of the orange ProGlo front is round and the green (which is sold out) is square.

Range report.
They point like a red dot optic. POI is where the front sight dot goes.
I kinda hook to the left. Im pretty sure Im just not used to the solid rear sight and wide notch. They are dead center in the slide like my Heinies were, but there is little light on either side of the front post when the target is black too, lol. Im going to try with a different color target next time. I figure there is a bit of a learning curve with them for now.
I shot my MkIII today too, with sights set up almost the same, and it was still dead on. So, yeah. I like them alot so far. Point naturally. Pass the closed eyes indexing test. And they fall back on target quickly. Liking them so far.

I'm sold, think I'm going to buy a set to try out.

Your video was good and had me laughing pretty good when the loctyte got spilled. Something I do all the time.

Thanks. I enjoy the feedback. :)

But now that Im sitting here, at 1:50 in the morning lol, the rear sight does look just a smidgin off to the left a little tiny bit.
Im not going to move it just yet. But I will take my sight pusher to the range with me next time.

Went back today after nudging the sight to the exact center.

So I figure the rear sight gap being wider is playing into my tendency to pull to the left where as my old sights with the narrow gap kept me from doing it as much. I don't know. More trigger time is needed. Until then, Im more than happy with them.

Thanks for the info and the vids. I've been wanting to replace the factory sights on my G30SF and G21SF, but have not been able to make up my mind. These look like a good choice.

I read somewhere that these Hack sights now come with a squared off rear for one handed manipulations. Can anyone confirm this?

I went with a heine ledge rear and a trij hd front in the yellow(on g17). Its stupid bright in the day and at night with a touch of light the yellow ring glows as well. super awesome set up hacks were my orignal plan but never could get them (they said rears were out) Im super glad i love this sight pic the g 19 will be next
