I just wanted to spread the word of my excellent experience with US Grunt Gear while assembling my first line belt. Originally posted over on XD Talk.

For a while I've wanted to put together a first line belt for practice/training/SHTF.
Some things I wanted: A quality holster that could take a light (Surefire X300), at least two pistol magazines, two AR magazines, multi-tool, handheld light, a dump pouch, and a first aid kit. It's a lot of stuff just to cram on a belt, but that would be the maximum load for if the crap totally hit the fan. For range use and training I'd probably tailor it a bit to save some weight.

After a lot of research (a lot of which is credited to rob_s at M4Carbine.net), I decided to go with a Raven Concealment holster because of quality, durability, design, and retention without any kind of thumb break.

Because the RCS holster doesn't come with molle attachments (a large majority of belts), I wanted to go with a US Grunt Gear Warhog belt. My awesome fiance got my this (and the Gerber Diesel) for my birthday.

On the weapon side of the belt is exposed 1.75 inch "belt," perfect for attaching the holster. I wanted to be able to put the Gerber and a light in front of the holster.

I hopped onto US Grunt Gear's sight and saw they actually make a double pouch designed to hold a multi-tool and a light... perfect! I also wanted to go with one of their 4th generation double AR mag pouches (which also have a pistol pouch on the outside of it), and their 4th gen single pistol pouch.

Because the 4th generation pouches have to be custom made, I called USGG to place an order. While on the phone, I was told they make a molle sleeve that would slip over the front part of the 1.75" webbing, so I could attach the multi-tool/flashlight pouch in front of the holster. They would send me that free of charge... awesome!

I also placed the order for a 4th gen. double AR mag pouch with XD9 pistol pouches, and one 4th gen. single pistol pouch also for the XD9. I think I ordered everything on the 16th, and was told it could be three weeks because of all the orders they had to fill. However, only one week later I had the package in the mail. Here were its contents.

I received the 4th gen. double pouch and the sleeve, however I also received a single 4th gen. AR pouch rather than a single 4th gen. pistol pouch. Also, there was no multi-tool pouch in the order. I called right away (on a Saturday) and left a message that there was a problem with my order. I received a call back later in the evening. He was very apologetic for the mix up. To make up for it, he offered to let me just hang onto the single AR pouch, and he'd send me the other pouches free of charge. A couple days later, the new package arrived.

I had heard great things about the quality of US Grunt Gear, but I can testify that their customer service is outstanding. There was an issue and they made it right. Ultimately, I received exactly what I wanted in half the time quoted, saved about $5, was told to keep a $40 AR pouch free of charge because of the mistake. Simply outstanding. Any gear that I need from now on will surely be coming from them. Here's the belt with all the pouches (Including my extra )

That looks awesome! Just what I've been looking for. If you don't mind my asking... what did the whole setup cost you?

So far I like it a lot- I've only done dry drills around the house so far, but I'm hoping to get to the range in the next couple days to really test it out. I'm really happy with the setup, but take no credit for the layout. Its very, very similar to rob_s (borderline identical). Not that I was tryin to be a copycat, but it's a really well thought out setup that after trying various locations of magazines- it made sense.

As for cost- it's definitely not cheap and has kinda taken my a while to put together. I ordered the holster in the spring, got the belt about a month ago for my birthday, and just now got the pouches. Better late than never I suppose. Left to right, approximately:

Warhog Belt: 100
Single pistol pouch: 20
Single AR pouch: 40
Double AR pouch: 50
RCS holster: 110
Light/multi-tool pouch: 27

The whole setup would cost about $350. Fairly expensive, but the quality is outstanding. I have no doubts this belt is going to last a LONG time, and will likely exceed my expectations as far as performance.

Rob does a great job on what he makes. I had him makes me a range bag. all custom made. I told him too make it too carry twp pistols. I called rob a few weeks back too let him know how I like the range bag. Plus I told him I can put two PMAGS where one pistol would go.:big_boss:

I've got a complete first line belt set-up from US Grunt Gear. Robert at USGG has gone out of his way, a couple of times for me. Have a special request - most places don't want to hear about it. Not these guys, they build first class nylon and will work with you.

I wanted a IFAK with a pouch for med shears. He built me one based his stock IFAK and added the shear pouch and extra velcro on the front. No hassle.

Superior customer service for sure. It isn't inexpensive, but it is a good value. You get what you pay for and then some.

I get a ton of questions about my kit at every training class I attend and I never hesitate to recommend their products.

I've dealt with companies with good customer service, but USGG goes way above and beyond for customers. The quality is outstanding.

After an insane amount of research, this seems to be the absolute best way (for me... YMMV).

So why the Infidel warbelt over the Warhog warbelt? What are the advantages / disadvantages of each?
