i was wondering if i could put the newer flip-up style lens covers on an older aimpoint that has the rubber bikini style covers.

sure, if the O.D. of the tubes are the same

IIRC, the ODs of the Comp and M/ML series are the same so what will fit one will fit the other.

All of the Comp M series bodies are the same OD, so the flip up lens covers will work on all.

However Buzby, the bikini style (which i believe is called the Military Lens Cover) is actually the new style, not the old.
The Army wanted it that way. and that is what is issued now.

thanks for the info guys! i have been looking at some used m2 aimpoints, with both types of lens covers. not sure what style i would want. i just got an eotech but would still like to try the aimpoints.

I don't even use 'em on my aimpoints.

Unless I am totally incompetent, the flip covers do not work on the M4.

They work on all of my M4's- all four of them.;)
You just gotta' have some faith is all...

Ya mean you actually put covers on your Aimpoint...... I gave that up a year ago...
Killflash in the front and nothing in the back... nothing to flip.. nothing to break...

Yep, I am incompetent again. I'll have to go back to Adco and try again. Thanks Pat.

Pat is absolutely correct. All CompM series Aimpoint sights have a 38mm Objective lens and a 30mm Occular Lens. Thus, Aimpoint Flip Covers will fit the CompM4.

It just takes some patience. These are proprietary lens covers, and they require some love getting them on.
Once on, it is unlikely that they will part company unintentionally.

Sub,
Yes. Their descriptor names are:

Lens Cover, Flip-Up, Front - Clear (Part No. 10313)
Lens Cover, Flip-Up, Rear - Clear (Part No. 10314)

Regular Aimpoint Lens Covers are:
Lens Cover, Flip-Up, Front (Part No. 10397)

MSR is $17.00 per

You can order those through any Aimpoint dealer.

That explains it. They were some Steve got in for another customer and I gently tried to see if they fit. Thanks all for clearing that up.

Pat,
Were they our new ones? Aimpoint recently started selling new flip up covers that are much improved and no longer have the small springs that are prone to break. The go on the CompM optics really tight. I am getting several sets.

I'll post pictures shortly.

I also handled the prototype Aimpoint QD Throw Lever. It is a very solid product and I think it will be well received.
